Thank you for the info. I didn’t originally like the pinaud clovey/ spicy scent but I grew to love it and I have the route66 bay rum but it’s a sweet smelling scent. I keep eye balling the Royall aftershave line .
I just got from my mother for Father’s Day a 1924 Ever Ready Shovel Head SE and a first quarter 1971 Gillette black handle Super Speed along with 4 empty Avon decanters.
New toy, but this one's in the driveway. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Here’s a photo of a pair of straight razors my mom also got me for dads day. One is a Dame Stoddard from Solingen Germany. The other is a Kayser Ellison from Sheffield England.
@Jorvaljr sorry it took so long. Seems to my nose that Captain's Choice Bay Rum shaving soap compares to the Clubman Virgin Islands Bay Rum. To me both have bay rum with citrusy notes, Captains Choice is a lighter sent. I can send you a sample if you wish. PM me... then give me a few days, things are "busy" round here. tp
That shovel head is a great shaver. It is a very audible razor. I have a Weber bulldog handle that I put on mine at times and it is a joy to use. Congrats on some nice razors.
A fellow TSDer was selling some very nice razors and I purchased these two- A Single Ring and a Goodwill: They polished up nicely. A few gouges in the cap of the Single Ring, but it won’t affect the shave obviously:
Figured I'd jump in another thread... Picked these up today from USPS. From Japanese seller on the bay. Old barber kamisori examples. Pretty inexpensive, well used I'm sure. But, they'll get a thorough cleaning, may even re-wrapped. I'll start watching gssixgun's kamisori honing videos soon.
Very nice! From the photos they seem to be traditional grinds. But you can still use either hand in a non-traditional way.
Dang it. You know it's just a money making scheme because automatic transmissions break down before manuals.
