Totally understood. I flip back and forth from the Feather or Kai guard style blades for a few reasons....1-I'm still trying to finish a sampler pack of blades I purchased :).....2-I've not been able to feel a difference in the closeness of the shave...3-sometimes I don't want to worry about the typical blade landing crimson spillage (when the caffeine hadn't kicked in)....and lastly 4-the guard style SE blade remind me of shaving with a DE handle now, just easy DFS results with minimal mind involvement, but the joy of an open blade.

I gave my youngest daughter a Merkur 15c, tube of Proraso white, Gillette Personnas, and a Perfecto perfect badger. So far, she's not asked for any more carts....mission accomplished.

Arrived last night in Vegas, woke up a t 4:00 due to the jet lag. No pic today but cleaned up my face with a DR Harris Shave stick, Everset brush and my Karve OC F plate. Oh yeah loaded with Russian steel. Time to go make some money.

    Semogue Boar
    Cella Almond SC
    Puma Special
    Cella AS Lotion

Today tried it a little different....180 degree hot water bloomed (I know, blasphemy, right!?) the Cella SC, and then used the milky sludge as a PS scrub in. Worked pretty well, but still loves me some Proraso PS for the initial open blade landing slickness after only 24 hours of growth. I made a nice (almost watery) bowl lather with the Cella SC and Semogue Boar, then face lathered everything together even more. Blade landings a little sticky, but got through 2.5 passes without any oops. DFS shave, no drama.

Face feel today vs. yesterday (yesterday was MdC).....Cella SC not quite as silky with face feel, either between blade passes or an hour after the shave. But...it's still a top 5 or 6 SC in my rotation (have some Cella AS balm on the way to maybe help after shave feel). However, wifey likes Cella SC almond aroma better!?!?! :angry019::happy102::angry032:

Last night the Puma went back to the Shapton 12k, and then did laps on an Ezra Arthur (Bison) horsehide 3" linen and leather strop. Definitely better edge than the last I remember using this blade. No CrOx or FeOx use in my setups yet.....may try that soon on my practice strop.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

I ended up not shaving this weekend. Went to the lake and discovered an electrical problem with the RV- Getting power into the trailer, and power to the plug ins, but no power to anything that needs to be inverted. Yup, a fried Converter. No lights + No water heater + No refrigerator = unhappy SWMBO. Not really any downtime to post, either, as I was wrestling with solar panels, electrical boards, etc. Still a nice Father's Day yesterday. They bought me an Adirondack chair at Costco, and watching my wife put it together was quite interesting.
Anyway, pulled out the E3 for my next 'basics' razor this week. Not sure which blade is in it -probably a Personna- but it mowed down 72 hours of growth with ease. M-bombed the Cool for 'Menthol Monday' and had to work to get the lather I wanted. I got it there and had a great shave. I am quite smooth, smelling great and ready to start the week.
    Have a great day all!

Free shipping kicked in at $65. Spent 28 cents more :happy108:

Bunch of AS/Cologne testers, few bath soaps, but main item was CK-6 Doppelgänger Black Label SS and AS package (Homage to Sauvage).

I think I'm at a 6-9 month mandatory NB on software......enabled badly in April/May/June, and wifey now thinks I need BIGGER and separate cabinet. She's awesome! :git:
