I was curious but a little hesitant at first, Paul. Our friend's brother has a pair of them. He provided a helmet and enough instruction to get me started. He rode alongside me, and we went slow. It took some concentration because I definitely was not in the mood to take a spill. When we finished, he sped ahead of me, parked his Segway, and was standing there waiting for me. He steadied it for me while I stepped off. The idea is to step off without leaning, which takes a little practice. The turns are a little tricky until you get used to it. In time, it would become second nature...but there's always a risk of taking a spill...so you need to ride safely, of course. My Bride had a very similar experience.

If you can stand comfortably, lean (for speed) and move your lower arms sideways (to turn) slightly, you should be fine. Your feet and lower legs are stationary.
It was a blast, Jim. When I suggested buying a couple of them, my Bride reminded me that we have two nice bikes that we need to ride. She's right. :)

Great shave Gary! Is that really Gary? I see a Chevy emblem in the back ground, next I'll be seeing a Schick injector.:angry021:

Mongoose (batch 2) in satin SS w/Dr. Bomber handle
Feather Artist Club Super Professional (1)

Rudy Vey Chubby handle w/Shavemac Two-band Silvertip knot
    C.O. Bigelow
Alum, Thayers WH, USB, and Pinaud Clubman

I returned to the Mongoose for the next few shaves. I've decided to use up the rest of the Super Professional blades in the open blade magazine before I put the razor away. I swapped out my 30DC LE brush for my RV handle with a Shavemac two-band knot. This brush is a joy to use, and it whips ups a ton of lather in nothing flat. I love my LE brush for its ease of use, but I generally prefer the warm lather made with my natural hair brushes using my brush scuttle.

Two passes later, and we were out the door to get new bathroom rugs. It should be illegal to have this much fun in one day. We continue to unpack boxes and get things organized the way want. If things proceed as planned, we'll have room for the second car in the garage shortly. My Bride did a stellar job loading and labeling the moving boxes. She packed most of them. My job was to bring stuff to her for packing and now move the boxes as required and help unpack. We spared no expense on bubble wrap and packing paper, and so far we've only broken a tiny twig off a ceramic snowman hot chocolate cup...and it was glued up and went to Goodwill yesterday. :) We've already got another Goodwill stack going in the garage. :)

    Have a great Tuesday!

I'd love to see some of the sights in the Maritime/Atlantic provinces of Eastern Canada. I guess we wish for things we've never gotten to experience.
