  1. Paul, that's a big ouch! I have seen one on EBay and was wondering what you thought about your Ern minus the mishap.

  6. Oh, this is the same type as Matthew, The Haunted Razor? Cool.
I have, I did, I will enjoy more shaves with mine!

I wondered since the Mr.Razor photos and others I've seen were all in gold (wash or plate). I assumed mine was replated, but it just may be an original nickle finish. I'll poke The Traveling Box thread and see if I can figure out who put this very nice cap & base plate in my hands!

  8. Glad I could remind and inspire! That particular scent was marketed to young men, but has enough of the right stuff to satisfy an older crowd. I suspect the lighter scent was meant to keep it from being AXE level powerful. If you enjoy it and seek a longer lasting product, look into Caswell-Massey Jockey Club.

  10. it could easily been original nickel,i haven't seen either nickel or chromium ones in person..just going on what the 2 piece versions were available in and forum info ..mine was gold wash/plate as was Neal's..my 2 piece criterion is gold as well..

  19. Good morning everyone

    The Parker 55SL Semi-Slant Razor.

Tried out my new slant, me likes it, here's my opinion of it. Remember this is only the first time I have used it.

First, the handle is fatter than most but not overly heavy, the pattern is such that grip is very good to excellent. Loaded it with a new Feather blade expecting to use two blades for the morning work. Well the first pass went well and seeing as one report said it was a milder shaver, it may be, but it still holds its own when put to the test. Now "most" torqued slants give me just a tad more life out of a blade, even though this is just a small twist, it seemed to do just that. I used the same blade for the 2cd pass and other than a small tugging at the very end around the chin, it was good. The head shave was as good a normal too.

I am clean as usual, with no issues.

Now this is my first shave with the razor, but it won't be the last.

I will say it doesn't have the blade feel or loud report some of the other tools that I use have.

So for a venture into the slant razor realm, the price is good, the quality is great. The only thing is if you like a light razor, say a bakelite, this razor is on the heavy side.

    Enjoy

    June 20 SOTD:

    Razor: Razorock Mamba
    Blade: Rapira PL
    Brush: Ever-Ready 150
    Lather: La Toja Shave Stick
    Aftershave: TSD Floid Blue Type
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

A great two pass shave this morning for a DFS. La Toja isn't too flashy, but it is a great performer. Slick and protective. A little TSD Floid Blue Type AS to finish up, and my day is off to a great start. I hope everyone has a great day!
