Oh, the joys of travel. Delta’s delayed flight out of STL has set the dominos in motion for the”you can’t get there from here” scenario. At least not today. Long story short, I’m now doing the planes, trains and automobiles version of the trip home. Flying into Ft. Lauderdale, ubering to the train station, and taking a train back home to West Palm Beach. Thankfully, unlike the end of a business trip, this weekend put me in a zen enough state of mind where I’m rolling with it significantly better than I usually do. Besides, now I’ve got time to fill out all those Cartel forms.

Glad you could make it for the weekend! It was great to meet both of you and yeah, that flight time was insane. I got up early to get Randy to the airport and Adam loaded up with goodies from my storage shed and I think you were already back home!

 

That may be true-I just didn't recall that one from previous viewings of the site, from long ago.

 

I believe I need to state that the Cookie/Russian Blade Cartel had absolutely nothing to do with your travel delay. However, the ability to expedite your form submission on other matters isn't necessarily a bad thing.

 

It was great to meet you and Jennifer! Hopefully we'll be able to do it again next year.
We were on the ground in Denver by 6:30am mtn. Uneventful trip home.

There are 7 Meetup brushes available for sale, along with 1 handle only. Here is the description from their creator, @jtspartan :

Hi Guys,
Neal asked me for a brief blurb about the brushes. They are made from Poculi- It is also called Red Zebrawood given the pronounced grain pattern. I made one sample which Neal gave approval to and then I made 17 more. I purchased knots from APShave Co- mostly SynBad bulbs, but a few flattops as well. I left a few as handles only, as I know a few of you would prefer a different type of knot (lookin' at you, Keith!). The hole is made to hold a 28mm knot.
Most of the knots are drilled to a deeper depth than needed, and then spacers are put in to raise the knots. I did this as you will need deeper sockets if you ever decide to swap out your synthetic knots for badger or boar knots in the future. They are all held with Silicone and should come out with some elbow grease and persuasion!
The distressed look on the top part is made with a few different Dremel bits. They basically have to be painted afterwards, as the Dremeling does leave burn marks. The handles themselves were made one at a time. They are meant to look the same obviously, but each is a little different. I didn't worry about making them completely uniform, I think they are easily identifiable as being from the same LE batch. They are finished with 3 coats of marine grade Urethane, which has proven to be a durable finish on my other brushes over the past few years.
Neal and I agreed that a few could be made for Canuck 30DCers who want one, but besides that, I won't make brushes that look like this again, with this wood, to keep the integrity of the LE. If you have any questions about them, just send me a PM.

If you would like to purchase a brush you MUST PM ME!!! I will be selling them in the order I receive the PM's. The 7 brushes are similar, yet unique. All have the SynBad bulb knot. The handle only, obviously, is just that. Remember - selling in the order I receive the PM's. So.....if you request the handle only and someone else requested it a minute earlier - you lose, unless it goes unpaid for.

Payment by PayPal. Once I receive your request I will PM back with my PayPal email. Just send it as a gift - NOT to purchase an item. Once the money hits PayPal I'll pack and ship. I'll allow 24 hours for payment then will release the brush for resale if you haven't paid. Not trying to be a hard guy just want to be fair.

I know someone will ask so here's the answer to your next question. You can request a particular brush. Just go by numbers starting on the left. 1, 2, 3 etc. If you request a particular brush and it is already chosen by someone else you'll have to rechoose. If you think you want to be picky you might want to tell me your top 3 choices. I'll sort it out from there. Again, the knots are identical, handles are very close. Same block of wood just different grain patterns.

Canadian members please note: Contact @jtspartan directly if you'd like a brush. He has enough wood to make a few more for those North of the border. Just easier to handle it that way.

Prices: $30 for a brush; $20 for the handle. The cost is exactly what Jason asked for the brushes so you're not paying extra to have me handle them. I'm just the middle man.

I'm working on The Founding Brothers, then I have Grant. I suppose the Grant book could be a good lead into the one you recommend. But I don't know when I'll finish it(Grant). Talk about tearing a telephone book in half .
