  1. he said he was counting to 21, as in digits....
  2. yeah, but while you're there....
  3. it takes entirely too long to rip a dvd....just sayin'
  4. ??

I can have one ripped and burned in 20 minutes...

EDIT: oops...I have a quad-core pc, that really made a difference over my 3.6GHz single core...

2nd EDIT: what do you use? I use a combo of DVDFab HD Decrypter, FixVTS, DVD Shrink, then IMGBurn
  5. yeah, just a dual core laptop, much faster than my single core desktop would be
I've only just decided to start jumping in, it's been a much too involved task in the past. I'm going to be trying several methods, right now I'm giving handbrake a whirl, dvdshrink is on the list, as is dvdfab.
I just recently acquired an western digital WDTV and a 1 TB usb hdd, so I want to put my movie and music collection on the hd, just have never had serious motivation to start ripping movies til now.
oh, while I'm at it I might as well shrink some of them for my Zune, too :D
  6. I have never had an issue using the progs I listed above...the actual ripping is pretty quick with DVDFab. It's the compressing with Shrink that takes the time, and then the burning.

I don't keep all the fluff, I rip it with Fab (full disc), use FixVTS to clean it up, use Shrink to remove all the extras and streamline it to just the movie and one audio so it will fit on a DVD-5 and convert it to an ISO file, then use IMGBurn to burn it.

This way, with kids, we can let them use the backup copies, and preserve our original, purchased copies damage free.

I believe DVDFab will do the compression instead of Shrink, but when I was heavy into it DVDFab was a bit buggy with that so I just stuck with Shrink.
  7. Wow - it got really quite in here... I'm just heading back to work for a few hours. Don't have too much fun without me! I'll see whoever's still awake later tonight.
  8. Oh man, I just went to shaving essentials to check out the Anherb special (thanks to Shep's thread) and found out there are new scents of Wesley and Scott. I must have the orange! :D
  9. Today I'm Rodd's enabler. :D

Early a.m. shifts this week starting tomorrow so I now switch to the night shave which I'm about to partake. I believe tonight L'o Cade is in order along w/ one of Rodd's New's. Perhaps some Speick AS to finish things off. We'll see how I feel.

    To Arms!!!
  10. Everyone needs an enabler or two, or 3 or 10 or.......
  11. Ok. I'm calling BS. As expected I was outbid by a sniper at the end of that auction. Problem is the time stamp shows 5 secs. after the end of the auction. I know darn well it was the seller using a 2nd sign on. This is why I only use eBay once every three years. What a joke. Even if it wasn't the seller, it has that feeling for me. I distrust that site so much.
  12. I mistimed things, I was going to check and snipe back if that had happened (up to a price point) however, I miss-timed things and was putting the dog to bed while it was ending. So between the two of us, we missed out of 4 of those New Improved razors today. I hope Tracy found some.
  13. I have finally learned to stay out of evilbay. Too much BS for me. Shilling, bait n switch, and on and on it goes.
  14. yeah.. for the most part that is a good policy. But I (like Shep) got the bug this week for that particular razor. I can't locate one around here, they don't come up on classifieds often and when they do, they are purchased before I see they were there. I could do a WTB, however, I think I am going to placate myself with another drink (ironically, it is Victory Storm King) and look into have cooncatbob make me a handle.
  15. I have 2 News. 1 with the larger gap, 1 with the smaller gap (accidental btw) I haven't used a New Improved. I'm pretty happy with the razors I have and the 2 I have coming in yet. (dang RAD)
  16. Actually I am quite happy with the way too many razors I have. It is just I haven't tried a New Improved and I have been wanting one of those since October, when it was featured in a historical thread across the street. Warning... clicking here takes your through the vortex to another place on the other side of the road....
  17. As predicted the Cade shave was splendid. This particular New worked quite well. It happens to have the same diamond pattern on the handle as the Bostonian for those that look at the pic. This has a heavier, longer handle which seems to help the shave. Decided to finish off with a splash of the Velv just cause I haven't used it in awhile. Feelin' right as rain even if I didn't win that auction. I hope the seller is very happy w/ his "purchase". If I'm going to do eBay I prefer the BIN I think. I'll keep my eyes open for the next few weeks.

Time for some salmon steaks and then off to bed. 5:30 am gets here early. See you all tomorrow.
  18. Good night, Shep.

Wife got home early from Mom's Night Out. I better put the beer and ice cream away and get off eBay. Nahh.. She don't care (specially when I don't care when she does Mom's night out)
  19. Tonight was a bit of a bummer. I'm headed back to UB in the morning
