  1. Bay Rum....love me some Bay Rum. Not tried the Stirling version. Sounds like a winner!

    Nice Shave Gary! Great lineup.

A little tired of the rain around here too! But....it's been keeping the summer temps down so far. Problem is...now we're cutting the grass twice a week, and no watering needed. Oh yeah...Great gear and shave Neal!

Awesome razor Keith! Nice setup as always.

Nice image and filter! That handle on the Razorock....nice!!!

  3. TGIF Indeed! Great pic, and man, is he ever growing!
Interesting comment on the SynBad. I think I might have set it too deep if it doesn't have enough splay in comparison to the 30mm. My 30mm is soft and splays easily. I don't actually have a 28mm myself. Do you want to try to yank it and re set it? If you do, and screw it up, I'll send you a new one.

  4. Yes, happy Canada Day!
I'm a huge fan of the Palmolive, in stick or cream (esp the Menthol one) form. As for Fougeres, I place the scent of SV Felce Aromatica above my others. However, the Splash is just ok for quality, imho. I have added menthol and glycerin to mine to get it where I want it.

  5. Oh by far the my most expensive soaps on a per use basis are American artisan soaps. The soaps are not cured very long so that we are buying more water.

  7. Interesting, never tried any of the SV products. My top priority in a splash is usually soothing/nourishing ingredients so there are a lot of well-regarded brands I don't even look at.

(my top priority in a soap is "comes in shave stick form" lol)

  9. $15 thrift store find, a bit of dish soap and it looked brand new. Has a great sturdy-feeling TTO mechanism.

The simple solution is to have two razors.
I always buy two if I really like a razor, so it looks like another Parker 55SL semi slant will be on its way.
    Probably next week.

  12. Thanks Blair
It fills the room when I pop the lid, nice.
Unlike PAA bay rum it has spice in it, clove if my smeller is right.
    But I like!

  14. I'm watching, too. Honing is my SR stumbling block. Films seem to be a way to get 'er done without skipping the mortgage payments. Post lots of details! Start a new thread if you'd like to keep your data all in one place. This 30DC hasn't quite got beyond my "read every post" abilities but y'all keep trying. It's a good thing, though.
I looked on the Dr.Jon website for that one. Found a Vol.2 of the Black Label. They describe it as,
"a masculine tobacco based fragrance with just a touch of light sweetness to it. We paired traditional male fragrances (Tobacco, Bergamot, Oakmoss) with less traditional floral and fruit notes (Violet, Lavender, Strawberry)"
    Different from yours Gary?

  20. I picked it up in Africa last year. Made in Germany, not distributed in these parts as far as I know. Amazon has some for more than I would pay.
