I worked at a plant where steel shot blasting was used by the contracted firm. They could strip and re-coat an incredible amount of space in a day. We'd shut down Friday and things were cleaned and cured for production Monday AM. Prolly $$$. Hope you enjoyed breakfast!
I just hope "Smitty" doesn't knock out the two I'm interested in, to make room for his "new creations". (The two are Home On The Range, and Tombstone).
There's also the "self-enabler"(who buys something he doesn't REALLY need, but doesn't want to pass up on it. That would be ME.)
Wow! Where are these guys when you really need em? We have a tight tolerance for smooth, so that might not have worked. We wore out a couple dimond blade pads sets. The studio floor is only 900 square feet, but amazingly hard. The dimond cutters would just scratch it a little. We worked almost 60 hours of machine time on it. It's crazy hard! But, it's done! tp
Thank you Jim. The copper razor is gorgeous. I decided to order the new base plate for the Tatara razor when it is available for purchase.
For natural brushes I would like another Shavemac flat top or a Paladin Moe. I would like to add a yellow or orange CH2 Synthetic when and if one is ever available. The one who enables the enabler. I am enabled on this thread daily.
Thank you Jim. I was really intrigued by the solid cologne as well. I had the Bay Rum solid cologne in the cart but decided against buying it at the last minute.

I’m fine. Thanks for the concern. I’ve been very busy and haven’t had much time for checking in. I’m hoping you are all well as well. Have fun!
If I am understanding the term 'tight tolerance for smooth' the answer would probably be no. The coating creates smooth on a small scale, but shot blasting does nothing for a broader range level. A defect in the original pour and finish telegraphs through.
June 29 Good morning, guys! Just finished my shave! This is Dovo Shavette shave #77 Voskhod .5 DE blade SOC badger brush Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS. Clubman Styptic pen I love the smell of Bay Rum in the morning! Bloomed the soap and soaked the brush for 5 min. Shook the excess water and used the bloom water as a preshave. Face lathered the Bay Rum SS to start this episode. The lather started out just a tad watery for my taste so I had to add extra soap to get it to my approval rating. My usual number of passes gave me an IBSS+ on a 48 hr growth, but my trusted friend was ticked at me and give me a 3/4 inch superficial cut. Applied the Styptic pen to stop the red river from bursting the dam wide open. The wound is barely noticeable, but it was my "worst" cut in a few years. I attribute this mishap due to the below average in blade sharpness and me being on automatic pilot mode. Ended up binning the blade. I have not decide if I will replace it with another Voskhod or a Personna hairshaper blade for my next shaving adventure. Finished with the Bay Rum aftershave. In spite of the cut, I enjoyed this shave. Result: Grade 94 = A Enjoy your Saturday guys!
