June 30 SOTD: Razor: Gillette Toggle Blade: Rapira PL Brush: Grizzly Bay Winter Lather: PAA Oubliette Aftershave: PAA Oubliette I decided to go with the Toggle this morning, which is rarely used. It is a nice enough razor, but I just don't reach for it often. I am actually thinking about selling it. I did get two passes for a DFS, so it definitely shaves well. This soap is a wonderful Barbershop type scent with some powdery notes matched by some nice jasmine and a bit of tobacco flower. Once again, it is a nicely done scent, and my kids are all fans. SWMBO left the house already this morning, so I haven't had a chance to run it by her just yet. It has been raining a ton here (I think we have had close to 15 inches this month), so it may be a lazy day around the house after church. I hope everyone has a great day!
You are right Robert. Looks like CF only is balms. I do have their Lavender trial size (from Maggards). It's not bad at all as a balm. Pretty light compared to other artisan balms. I definitely don't like greasy.... And temp wise.....most places have the official NOAA temps are derived from an airport, but other nearby areas with more concentrated blacktop/concrete easily hit higher. Pretty much the case around the DFW area (and most large cities). Very nice razor Keith! Nice setup as always. Big Blackland fan myself (even though I only gots one). Nice color coordination Jim! Drippy deep finishes on both the Blackland and Montalvo. Bay Rum....just awesome Terry! You and Joe are making me want to try the Stirling version.... Great setup, image and shave Joseph. I tend to agree that DEs can shave closer with less effort. But, they are nowhere near as fun. And every now and then....I match my DEs capabilities, usually with my Feather AC DX setup, but have also with the Aust, Tanifuji and Puma straights. Incredible image in it's simplicity and subject! Love the colors and that handle. Just wow!
I absolutely am going to have a look before the next ride. 1st life, was a commercially used unit 2nd life, was with me until old age unreliability set in. 3rd life, came back with a re-power. All I spent, I probably could have gotten a brand new Harry Homeowner rated ztr. Would not have had the ground speed of a Lazer-Z but it would have cut grass. Yup, I'll be checking those fuel lines. I don't think this cat gets 9 lives.
June 30th Proraso PS Red Semogue OC Cherrywood Boar Proraso SC Red Gillette L1 Slim Gillette Personna Proraso AS Red I needed to get a 'June - Just the Basics' shave in. Hadn't revisited this month's focus for a couple of weeks. 2.5 pass DFS shave with easily predictable results. A little buffing on the lower right neck and all is nice and smooth. Small weeper near the corner of the mouth, but no drama otherwise. Dispatched with the Proraso AS. Before I started on the 30DC the Proraso Red was one of two main (ToBS Sandalwood just finished) creams used for Jan, Feb and most of March. Between the Proraso and Semogue, easy slick bliss. I've been all over the place in June....and May.....and April..... SAD, BAD and RAD combined. June was mostly continuing my Kamisori and Straight obsession. Still have a few outstanding items I'm waiting for, but tomorrow starts a 'No Buy July' for me. All you 30DC enablers.....good luck, game on!
