Considering the nature of the endeavor it's Shavers Choice. Precedence has been established on a prior Cinco de Julio. This isn't a MAYhem shave where gluing stick to blades wins a Shavey. I think someone used a single Popsicle stick, but the idea is to place the DE blade of your choice between two flat wooden sticks (sans frozen food product) and unitize them with a common paper stapler.
I’ll be shaving with vintage Gillette razors for July. Gillette July if you will. I’m not be participating in Cinco De Julio because I’m not interested in reckless slicing of my face.
Am I mistaken or is this the infamous Cookie Czar once again enabling the use of frozen dessert treats? Ice cream Barons beware!

I’ll be out of touch a bit this month, leading my kids in a few weeks of tablet-free, screen free life. Wish me luck...
July Focus Fine~~Simpson~~Portland 1905 Sticking with mostly straights once again, mostly because I am stubborn, I went with one of my smallest: a Portland 1905 4/8 (edge courtesy of @gssixgun ) Disclaimer: I have refreshed this blade myself. The under-appreciated Fine soap with its lovely lavender scent was up to the task. If I were to criticize this soap at all, it would be the container...yuck and the mediocre post-shave. However, the aftershave rocks and it's one of my favorite lavenders. Nice application of the suds with the Simpson Emperor. The Portland proved to be a worthy tool for a face with just about 24 hours of growth. No nicks; no irritation; no problems around the chin. Full-on DFS, with the usual un-smoothable areas on the neck. One side note: I knocked the Portland with my right hand before the shave and it was headed to the floor, when, in my infinite wisdom (not) grabbed at it... Came out of that stupidity lucky.
Good luck, Randy! I remember the old days when people had to talk to one another to pass the time. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Great shave and picture, Joseph. Lucky you saving the razor without injury. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Excellent picture and post Joseph. I agree with you on Fine Soaps. The Fine Lavender aftershaves is one of my favorites. Thank goodness you were able to grab the razor with injury.
July 1, 2019 Occam Nano 2 dot plate Feather Pro CH-2 Synthetic Oleo Shiloh Shave Soap & Aftershave The start of short work week. Since I don't have a really patriotic brush, I decided to alternate my CH2 synthetics in a Red, White and Blue theme for the week. I will be using the Oleo Shiloh three times a week until its gone. The Red Soap Destroyer ate through the Shiloh whipping up a wonderful rich slick lather. Three passes and touch ups ended in drama free BBS shave. A splash of the matching aftershave and I am off to work. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
We have two types of members here: wise men (like yourself) and wise guys (like most everyone else)! I don't do the stunt shaves either. Looks like you and I will be the designated ambulance drivers. Glad to have you aboard for July, and I look forward to following along with your shaves.
Sounds like a good plan, Randy. Rest assured that I will defend your good name and reputation until you return.
