Thank you, Andrew! Yes, the sticks are about as hard as other shave sticks.

Hmm...PAA has shave sticks now? Oh....No Buy July. Rats. Added to the August list ;). Shave sticks could really make weekend travel shaves easy (yeah....Arko and Derby exist, but....it could be PAA CK6 now). Great image and shave Jim!

Very nice! I'm guessing off to the side is a 20 step polishing/detail/make up kit every morning for your razors and gear? Excellent shave and image Jim!

Sounds like you are ready to part with the OREN 2 dot for OREN version 3 dot? Hey....hit me up! :bounce015: An F1 race car is performance....but looks like a winged wheeled bullet. Give me 60s iron/horsepower/style any day! Great image and shave Clint!

    Nice shaves, Bill!
I am not sure I am comfortable with people upping the game on Cinco de Julio razor looks. It makes some of us look bad.

Goal-oriented vs process-oriented thinking. I hadn't really considered that in the context of shaving. I'm squarely in the process-oriented camp myself. So no grades for me, just always thinking of how the next one could be better.

I think I went with four or five squirts. I'm still catching whiffs of it and it's been almost eight hours.

Sounds like a great shave Paul! I can envision it all.

Great image and shave Danny! Hoping it all turns out well (for you) with that situation.

Very nice image and shave Mark. Love the red white and blue theme!

Our school district is only a week behind this, starting August 15th. Marching band (leader camps) start for the girls in 2 weeks, full band (300+ this year!) practices in 3rd week of July. But, they are already playing and learning the show music, via some instrument sectionals, mixed with small get togethers. It's expected that you have show music memorized before camps. There actually is a district rule (maybe state?) that no 'organized' activity for full practices (band/sports) happen 31 days before school starts. Otherwise, some of the admin would never have a summer (or the kids). It's only about 5, maybe 6 weeks as it is.

I didn’t know you had kids in band! That’s terrific. Yes, school summers are crazy short. Athletics have strictures on their practice periods and days but band does not. I try to rehearse as compacted as we can do as not to kill the kids’ time off.

Great gear and shave Keith! I've always done the warm water setup....it's getting hot here in NTx. I may try this cold water shave thing....

I think NOT. Mojo maintained! Very nice image and gear Joseph. Tomorrow's another shave day. No big deal on one that didn't quite work as expected.

I don't consider meeself worthy of giving shaving advice. Not qualified, and have no idea of all the variables. I'll give a comparison that I've noticed in my short wet shave ventures though. My Blackland Dart with a sharp blade (like the Personna) is aggressive, lots of blade exposure, and pressure sensitive. Too much pressure, instant weepers. Now....straight shaving, a couple of my straights require some pressure, as they don't seem sharp enough. Still working that rabbit hole of honing. The opposite of a straight wanting pressure is the Feather AC DX handle with a Feather AC Pro blade. Any pressure equals spillage of crimson. I have to remember this 'pressure change' when going back and forth from a straight to the Dart to a straight (that isn't the Feather AC DX). I've had set down weepers from the Dart early on, just like a set down weeper of a sharp straight/shavette.

Or, I could be the crazy lunatic about all this my teenage daughters think I am (and they keep reminding me with themed shirts every Christmas and Father's Day the past few years).

DO NOT..... create an August buy list!

Add that item to your July No Buy List.

    This is important!

I like that idea. Many Artisan soap makers do a soft tubbed soap because it doesn't require the longer curing time. If a buyer is comparing price per ounce they may not take into account the water content of the soap. Those hard triple milled products are about as dry as they can be made so the product is all soap with little water to add weight or require large tubs. I know... some folks like the big tubs for ease of loading. The softer soaps do load almost as easy as a cream. That's why I've moved away from creams - it's prehydrated, dare I say Bloomed soap? I'd like to see more Makers offering the stick form. It's very traditional and convenient for face lathers. I'll still mash them into a tub and load my brush, but the soap lasts longer!

The soap lathers and smells great, it provided the perfect slickness. The flat top knot is going to take a little getting used to, but I’m already glad I went with it. I’m going to take the gd back to the stones to get it cutting a little better, my first honing of this one didn’t go as well as I thought it did. It was a pretty good shave considering I was using all these items for the first time.
