I don't want to speak for Bill @Edison Carter so this is all me. Envelopes? It's like Keith and Joe have escaped The Envelope I'm still inside. Part of each persons Shave Journey is the discovery and plateau crossing. When lathering becomes second nature, or DE blades matter less. Those are just steps along the way to Mastering the whole shave thing. You two guys have seen the mountain top and choose to gauge your quality by how far you are from the peak. Occasionally I wander up and realize I'm there. Due to my still ongoing learning process I wander back to the low lands of imperfect shaves so I can try a different approach. "Not all who wander are lost"
I do read every post when I have time Joe. When I don't I still read every shave report. This is Shave School & I'm here to learn. I don't have a problem if you expand your format. Joseph @Primotenore tends to post loquaciously and I enjoy his shave reports.

Those nuggets of Wisdom come easy for New Shavers. They are laying all over the place here in 30 DC Land. For us more experienced shavers we've already panned the stream, and now we have to dig and mine for the harder to find esoteric or incremental improvements.
That's where I find myself Terry. Golf scores? They can be compared but it's an individuals game against himself that counts. I could hurt myself striving for my "best game" but I'd have to go easy for a couple days to recover. Better for me to enjoy the game/shave so I can play again soon!

Assuming the School Year was broken to give farmers and their children the Summers off to work, there are few of us farming full time lately. Those that do have modern equipment so they don't need the kid as much?

What happens on Labor Day-the kids work the farms, take their regular classes, or have the day off?

H.S. marching bands have the same rules as the athletics here in NTx. In fact, they both have the same yearly physicals, fitness grams, etc. The marching season requirements and 'all things band' opts them out of P.E. every year of H.S.

My two....oldest (11th) is a horn player. On the band leadership team. Dedicated, motivated, practices sometimes hours a day (even in summer). Will probably carry it over to college, possibly get involved in DCI and beyond. Extra curricular activities...loves competition, does well in UIL solo and ensembles, last year played with Lone Star Youth Orchestra (2018-2019) and now with the Dallas Youth Symphony Orchestra (2019-2020 season starts in August). Youngest (10th) plays piano and clarinet, does well at both, and is content with all things being in band and the friendships/relationships/activities that exist within. She'll likely play piano forever, just like her grandmother, but entirely for personal enjoyment.

Band is a great thing for most. I was all out percussion/drum corps back in the....well, a long time ago. :) Now, I just volunteer time....usually one of 20 or so moving all the pit gear every football game every week (hey....ever lifted a 5 octave vibraphone or rolled one up a 150' 25 degree football field incline in August in N Texas.?...now that deserves some cookies and ice cream)!

If anyone asks, I'll flatly deny KRAD. I wonder how difficult it is to forge a razor from used lawnmower blades?

I use these off of Amazon and make a shave stick with any soap.

The OREN comes with a 1, 2 and 3 dot plate. I just happen to prefer the 2 dot plate. I do have the updated Occam's Razor pre ordered but the OREN will be staying in the den.
