Nice post-war MK 32 in today, and even has a great edge on it. How rare is that! Plastic scales, but maybe I can find something better....
  4. Oh yeah..... go for it!

  5. Do you think those MK31 tortoise scales will fit, or do you have something else in mind?

  6. Tom, possible, I took measurements and sent them to Alfredo, but he said there’s no way to tell without dropping the blade into them. Which is what I expected him to say! But it was a nice try. The tortoise scales would probably come closer, they’re a bit ‘taller’ top to bottom.

This was a lucky acquisition. The seller listed all the pictures, with it in the plastic case, which goes to something else. only the last picture or two had the razor open. It was listed as a "Sanitary Razor", which, to most, means a shavette, or disposable. It wasn't, It was a somewhat uncommon razor, with a covered Tang and Tail. Lucky for me, because it sold for $5.24. It will need a little work, because of the rust and tarnish. But, surprisingly, it is in pretty good shape, and has little to no hone wear, on the spine. The scales look dirty, but pristine, and straight.

  11. The long odyssey of this razor has come to an end. I won it on eBay way back on May 20th. It just arrived today. @Billyfergie took delivery from Japan to give it some TLC. Little did I know the seller was going to declare full value to customs and Japan levies a duty on items going to the UK and the UK levies duties on items coming from Japan - so it was a double-whammy, not to mention a slow trip and some extra time in customs. Sheesh. :shocked003:

Anyhow, it was factory fresh and had never seen a hone. Billy had to do some extra work as there was nothing even approaching a bevel on it but he worked his magic and it came up aces. After a little extra time on the hones it finally made it here. First shave puts it in my top three. Couldn’t be happier. :happy093:
