We were discussing A&E Cafe Au Lait. Haverford is more of a vanilla forward scent to me.

I don't recall you mentioning your birds Paul. Fancy inside types, or free range outdoor specimens?

"In expanding the field of knowledge, we but increase the horizon of ignorance." - Henry Miller.

That thought has stuck with me. As a child climbing up a tree gets a bigger longer view, they realize how much more of the world they can't see. If I'd perused an intellectual career Astronomy might have been a start. From there so many sub disciplines that focus on a range of subjects would have channeled my view.

Thank you Danny! It's a solid peach sized hunk of billet aluminum with a fat badger knot. Grocery store peach, not the tree ripened kind. From the mind of Steve @Vlasta!

Sincerely appreciated Jim. Just trying to keep up with this photography of this crowd.

Thank you Clint for the kind words!

Just a little, always sounds like more than it was when it's typed. Thanks for the kudos!

    Thank you kindly Danny. Appreciated!

Blair, you may have already given the details, but I'm curious about your Kamisori. Did you say it's 6/8? Hard to tell scale in a photo. Since the Japanese style straight tends to a shorter blade do you prefer that type to a longer bladed Western SR?

Other Artisan soap makers should be paying attention to this format! It's been around since forever, still used by several companies, but ignored by modern makers.

Missed a couple shaves but still doing cold water.

Yesterday: Rocket, Lab Blue (1), Palmolive, Plissoft, Chatillon Lux YRP
Today: Rocket, Lab Blue (2), Speick, Omega boar, Chatillon Lux Foret de Liguest

Took a while to get decent lather with the Palmolive, not sure what the issue was.
Also not sure if soaking the boar brush in cold water works that well.

Heading out of town for a few days to be a groomsman for my friend, just bringing my rocket and plissoft, Arko stick, couple of Wilki blades and my bottle of Noble Otter Orbit as that's the scent I picked for wedding day

Thank you Andrew! I've not measured it, but I think the blade gap surpasses a Fat Boy on 9. Keeping it on the cap tames the blade and it just plain works. I might have eventually found a used Merkur. Now I don't need to look.

Thanks Blair! I see you listing the Red PSS. As much as I like proraso's Green PSS I'll be picking up that one, too.

This should help. A couple other kamis to show comparative size. It it slightly wider than 6/8, maybe 13/16. Handle holding this one really feels much longer than it looks. Because it’s square, I can make it work holding just about anywhere along the handle length.

I do prefer the maneuverability of smaller blades, both in length and width. It’s like shaving with a DE to me. However, I do like the traditional blade shapes and sizes I have so far (Puma, Henkels, Aust, ABCo, etc). But, those do require more thought so I don’t nick something.

Perfect! I have a Chinese clone of the CJB/Feather kamishavette so the scale is apparent. It's a beautiful tool.

Thanks guys. We left lunch smelling like BBQ smoke (a very good thing), and we had a blast at the hospital. We watched "Finding Dory," "Frozen," napped and played with our little friend. We got all the major items accomplished, so it was just about a perfect day. :)

Nice set ups! Don't know if you've shared a first name. We tend to here among The 30 Day Crew.

Rather that thinking of it as a missed shave consider it growing a good beard for the next shave! I'm a every other day repeater for the most part. Glad the cool water is agreeing with you.

Curious about the cool water boar bristle conundrum. Joe @Trigger or Charlie @wristwatchb can confirm or deny this thought - Chemical reactions double in intensity every 18 degrees (?). Not sure if absorption of water by natural bristle is a "reaction".
