  1. Terrific picture, Jim!
Twelve shaves on a Platinum Lux is pretty impressive.

  6. I’ll replace it but not right away. I have the Asylum Colonia which is also based on ADP but Shiloh has the better scent.

  8. Raffle prize came in today from Blair @b1hart and I received more than I was expecting. A couple of Kai blade and aftershave samples. Also, two post balms instead of one. Love the scent of the Executive but not quite as strong as I was expecting but I like it a lot. Looking foward to a nice afternoon shave tomorrow and trying it out. Thanks Blair for your generousity. Hope your vacation is off to a great start. 20190705_130300.jpg
  9. Six to eight weeks on a non-expedited application. I'm fortunate having a office 1.4 miles away to visit and get the required paperwork. The timing should have mine in hand a month before I need it. Already thinking, making arrangements for a temp to cover my Pawpaw duties while I'm gone. The tourist visa is good for a month I think. Since they live near Melbourne on the far South East coast, we may travel to Sidney where she has family. So far the only touristy activity I have in mind would be opals. My father's dad was a rock hound and set me on that idea. I'd really like to dig up a rock to be set in a ring. I think there's a building project planned while I'm there. Fortunately their October is like our March - Spring time!
  10. I find it to be one of the best aftershave formulas out there. :eatdrink047: I used Orbit this morning.
Chatillon Lux almost has too much moisturizing to use every day, especially his toner, but NO and Chiseled Face seem to really hit the sweet spot.

Relatives I'm staying with have softer water than back home, getting unbelievable amounts of lather from my Arko here
  11. Happy Cinco de Julio! Yes, I partook in today's tomfoolery. It went okay. The popsicle sticks were the basic skinny ones. That's an awful lot of blade reveal there. If I do this again, I'll probably want to rethink that. Or use a stiffer blade like a Gem. The blade itself today was a Rapira Stainless on its third or fourth shave. I also used glue, because I have no idea where the stapler is.
The soap of choice was Electric Sheep, so if anything goes wrong, I can't blame the lather.
Two passes went without incident. At that point, if all I cared about was looking presentable, then I could stop. But I usually prefer a third pass, atg, and some touching up. Turns out that super light, super flexible, and atg are not such a good combination. No real damage, just a couple of weepers. But it really just felt like I was asking for it, so I bailed halfway through and grabbed the Gem to finish.

  17. Wowza, great shave Robert. I won't attempt an WTG popsicle stick shave, much less an ATG pass. Well done!
