Much better shave this morning-I believe the better brush DID make the difference. I'm reserving the CelticsMascot and the Burma Shave to regular tubs/pucks. Actually, having said that, perhaps I should give the Burma Shave brush a chance with the Burma Shave soap. But anyway, everything went well-the Jayaruh worked its magic around the mug of Stoylin. I had to tip the mug to its side at times for a better approach-all the while saying "Please don't slip out on me". It didn't. I hope I can get the Stoylin cake to suds up soon-just like the Burma Shave cake did after ONE use. But it got the whiskers off, and produced a fresh clean face and neck-that's the important thing.

I have to say I can't wait to get going with my Xecutive Man hand soap....every sniff I make brings forth an "Oh wowww!" reaction. Actually, it's a bath soap, but...well, you know how I deal with bath soaps.

I was able to sleep in a little longer this morning. Of course the dog kept me awake most of the night with the thunderstorms rolling through. The CH2 Synthetic whipped up a rich slick lather with the WSP Matterhorn. I really like the crispness of this scent. Three passes and touch ups ended just short of catching the baby. I just did not feel the need to buff my lower right neck to catch the little guy. A touch of witch hazel with menthol followed by Cool Water Edt left me clean shaven and smelling nice. Even got the SWMBO seal of approval. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

    Three factors Joseph.

First is the mutton tallow. I've only tried a small sample of Mitchell's Wool Fat soap, and a couple samples of Stirling's beef or mutton tallow. There is a difference in the quality of the lather from my experience. Mutton tallow makes a better performing lather than beef tallow.

Now if I have enjoyed the lather, there's the second factor. Mutton has a scent all it's own. Rendered sheep fat is concentrated into high melting temp tallow. That scent follows through to the soap. I don't find it unpleasant, but it's different from more traditional or at least more often used beef tallow. That's one of the reasons I haven't purchased a puck of The Fat - little or no scent I can pick up.

Third factor is purely subjective. The choice of scent in Glastonbury is strong with "Patchouli, Lavender, Oakmoss, Lichen, Frankincense, and Vetiver". I like each of those in any scented products I've tried. In this combo they please my nose. Not listed is a pine scent I get. Could be the combo fooling my senses. Doesn't matter to me because I like the scent. Can't say if those around me enjoy it as much as I do, either. I think it was Joe @Trigger who found the scent light in his experience. Being a small batch soap maker could be the scent oils needed more stirring. Maybe I got the extra that Joe missed.

There's a fourth factor that may have influenced my purchase of both the SS & AS - availability. Making this a Limited Release or seasonal offering - I didn't want to not have it. FOMO much? Possibly, but I enjoy it so I'm a happy shaver.
