Yesterday’s shave, Leon Pelleray, Paris Le Precieux Suedeois frameback, SMN lathered with a Simpsons 57 and topped it all off with a splash of Aga Balsamica. Today’s shave, shave #11 on the blue-scaled Filly 14 Sub Cero user grade. It’s doing fine, but should be with only 11 shaves on it. Cream was MdC fougere lathered with a Persian Jar 2 and a splash of the usual AB finished up.
Hi I’m back from holidays (and also from some hardworking days) and I’ll be slowly getting back to the forum Today shaving was with the Sándor 8/8”, a recently bought plisson evolution brush and a VIP shaving cream (which I don’t recommend) Since for a long period have been using smaller and full hollow razors, today I lacked the skills to shave with Sandor. Well I end up with a fine BBS (except under the jaw line) but also end up with a small cut. I was using the heavy Sandor like a light full hollow Dovo or Filarmónica or TI and missed the right pressure, angle and speed. Saturday Straights' Shave Cold Water Rinse Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap Jayaruh #371 Badger/Boar J.R.Torrey 5/8 CWR Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #371 Badger/Boar brush. I did the first pass with the J.R.Torrey 5/8 razor. I did a clean up pass with my Enders Speed Razor with Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Bossing Pear Brrr Shoppe Omega boar Pitralon Another rather obscure American razor. Hand Made in Providence Rhode Island. A spartan blade but well made with good steel. It took a very nice edge and shaved well.
Number three of the three Napoleons in my den. A wonderful shave from the biggest blade I have. I refreshed it last night to level the playing field with some 3 micron lapping film, then 1 micron, followed by my Escher, some stropping, a little pasted strop, and some more stropping. At least for now, the pecking order is as shown at the bottom of this post. George Wostenholm & Son’s Celebrated I•XL Razor The shape of the tang really sets this one apart for me... love the sweeping transition to the blade. And you have to give it to them with how much marketing they could fit on a 6/8” razor. Enjoy your shave. Tom
