Is that Tool? I recognize it, but can't place it.

Wow I just had a really weird moment....

I was looking through facebook and I saw that two of my friends joined a group "remembering Jonah" I didn't know him but I poked in to see how my friends might have known him. The group has nearly 2000 members, I went to his facebook page and looked at his wall. People have been using it as a memorial, some were telling him about pictures they found of the two of them together, some were just talking. There were at least 150 of them, anyway I'm trying to figure out who this guy is and it comes to me... this is the kid who fell/jumped (we don't know) off one of the buildings on campus near the beginning of the month. It was just so weird because I didn't realize it was him. I didn't think I had any connection at all to this person. I'm kind of bummed now that I never got to meet him because from the sound of things I would have liked him.

That is pretty cool. I bet that would make a sweet avatar... unless it was too small to get the details on it...

Yeah... that does indeed sound weird and surreal.

Heyyyyyyy-ooooooooo...The much anticipated 7 o'clock blacks arrived today. Already shaved one in the Bostonian. Gotta love it. A perfectly smoothy, smooth shave. Next up I'll revisit the Tuckaway again. Then I will be finishing off Rodd's sample set. Still gotta try the Old and the TTO.

Also Matt's adjustable came in today too. A good mail day at the Shep household. Hot diggity dog! :happy088

    Today's random observation:

Outback Steakhouse has turned into a festering s**thole that's not worth half the price that they charge for their grade Z meat and crappy food. I'm done with them.

My 7 O'clock blacks from the Shave Den arrived today as well. The one's I got in an auction have paused in Indy for some reason.

So how does the Tuckway compare to the Bostonian?

Wife still loves the place but the last time I was there my food wasn't as good as it used to be. I had chalked it up to a fluke as we only go maybe 1-2 times a year.

It's no fluke. I've been to a couple different locations in three states in the past year and a half and they're all suffering. all their steaks, filet included, are stringy and tough and fatty. their portions have steadily decreased while the prices have dramatically increased. all of their ingredients seem to have taken a severe hit in quality. The fries are gritty and disgusting, the burgers are mediocre at best, and the steaks, as mentioned, are stringy, fatty and tough. I've given them the benefit of the doubt because I used to love the place, but no more. It's garbage.

Middle of the week always seems to be the slow days in here for some reason.

    Hey Tracy....

Well, with it being as quiet as it is and with the fact that I barely work up this morning, I guess it is time to day Good Night Corey and Tracy and head to bed.

    Night Justin.

I went to bed early last night because I hadn't slept well the previous night. I just can't live off of 4 hours like I could in college.

The more I hear complaints about chain restaurants, the more I appreciate Good Eats. The BBQ pork chops were outstanding. A fine start to the grilling season.

I don't mind chain restaurants but I usually try the local places when I travel. Some of the best meals I have ever had have been at the local places. We have an Italian restaurant in Casper that is the best Italian I have ever had. Bosco's. Mama Bosco cooks in a kitchen smaller than my kitchen and she makes darn good food.

    Night sir.

Not all chain restaurants are bad. Longhorn Steakhouse kicks monster behind. Their Prime Rib is top notch. As goofy as it can be, Fuddruckers still makes a mean burger. And their buffalo burger is pretty tasty too. As sucky as Outback has consistently been, their sister company, Carrabbas, still tastes pretty damn good.

Good Eats is good, but Alton Brown has become a bit more smug than I can take in recent episodes. He needs to go back out on the road and do another Feasting on Asphalt.

Mom and Pop places are usually pretty good eating.
