July 8 Good afternoon, guys! Dovo Shavette shave #82 Personna Hairshaper (6) Semogue OC Badger Proraso Green SS and AS I am really liking Proraso Green! It lathers easily and produces a nice shiny, and cushiony lather. Two and a half passes with minor touchups gave me another superior shave! Finished with Proraso Green AS. Guys, I am still feeling the tingling effects of the menthol. Have a great afternoon, fellas!
Thank you Clint! It is probably my favorite WWB handle and definitely my favorite badger knot. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Different strokes for different folks, Clint! I like my Omega Pro 49 brush, more so than my expensive Semogue OC badger. I am surprised that the 49 wasn't up to your standards.
I think it is the Italian coming out in you and next you will be buying a Ferrari. Great shave and picture Joe!
Joe that is why there is so much soap on the market. The only Razorock soap I have tried is the What the Pucks and I really like them for the price point. Take care.
Thanks, Jim! You and I did well with the Proraso Green, today! I wasn't thinking of the Monday Menthol!
Don't take this the wrong way Joe, but I think if you spend some time learning how to dial in the lather with the RR soap base you will be pleasantly surprised by it's performance. When I first got XXX I though that the slickness was horrible, turns out I was severely under-hydrating it because I wanted the lather consistency to be like the other soaps that I was used to. When in fact when properly hydrated the RR soaps are very light and fluffy and not dense and creamy. Maybe a focus is in order . Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
I agree, Danny. However, I am mainly a straight razor shaver and Razorock doesn't give me the slickness, nor the cushion needed for that type of shave. I find that I can use it with my safety shaves because it is passable. I will use my 2 pucks of RR, but I will not purchase another RR soap.
I don't take anything wrong. I appreciate good constructive dialogue. I have used RR 2x and I was not impressed, thus far. Now, I am open to having an epiphany with RR, just as I recently had with Williams. The other negative item that I have with RR is the scents are almost non-existant. I like soaps that aren't overpowering, but still have some omph to them.
Thanks Danny! Diminished returns? When the repairs cost more than the value of the vehicle... Automatic trannys are the stuff of Wizards. "Any where she wants."? Maybe she's the one driving the Malibu? There was a time I understood the systems Jason. I could set points with a paper matchbook cover & adjust timing by ear. Then The '70's happened, or mid to late '70's. Vacuum lines started breeding, and vacuum pumps appeared. When computers got attached, I could still comprehend gross features like alternators or exhaust manifolds. Throttle body injection, electronic ignition, fly by wire fuel/air controls? Good thing the wires have unique shaped connectors. I "rebuilt" the 2.9liter V6 in my Ranger but had a shop do the block, crank bearings, piston rings, and valves. My part was grunting and assembling the big pieces. Those were just a little passed the coarse times. Tolerances are tighter now. My school was getting greasy, not reading the diagnostic computer. Closest to what I'd call mechanicing these days is Spring Time lawnmower recycling. Folks can't start em with a couple pulls, they buy a new one. I'll wash out the gas tank and carb, steel brush and gap the spark plug, and sell them to teenagers who want to start their own lawn service companies.
