Thanks Andrew. Now if someone mentions the Nissan Titan, we'll have all the major food groups covered.

Good job keeping the pot stirred, my young friend. You have made the short list for Assistant Chief Shenanigator. Unfortunately, I had to deduct a couple of points because you stopped short of awarding @Trigger a C- on his RR lathering technique. When he's released from detention due to the grade book fiasco, I think we'll all see a big turnaround.

    Razor: Rocnel Adjustable
    Blade: Rapira PL
    Brush: Ever-Ready 150
    Lather: Speick Shave Stick
    Aftershave: Maggards London Barbershop

Another great shave with this razor. This time, I paired it with some Speick. Two passes and DFS. A little Maggards London Barbershop AS to finish, and my Tuesday is going. I have busy morning at work, then I have to head to the passport office again this afternoon to pick up my daughter's passport. I hope everyone has a great day!

My second vehicle was a (thoroughly) used 1975 Datsun truck. The floorboard had rusted through, so my buddy used sheet metal off the doors of an old Chevy to patch it up. He also gave it a new coat of paint and offered to add flames down the sides at no extra charge. I skipped the flames, preferring the classy, understated look. Another buddy told me we spent more time pushing it than riding in it. I spruced it up as best I could and sold it after a few months. New floor mats covered the orange sheet metal patches underneath. That was my first and last truck.

I've since moved on to Toyota after reading the brand reviews. We used to do a lot of interstate driving, and these cars flat out get 'er done. My record so far is 325K on a 1985 Corolla (my first new car). When it started looking ratty, my Bride ordered it's disposition. I gave it to a friend, and it kept going. I've had great service from a few others since then. I purchased all of them except two used as returned lease cars.

A good friend actually just purchased a new 4-door F150 with all the bells and whistles. I got to see it for the first time on the 4th. It's a beautiful truck, and I'll be interested to see if performs reliably for him over the long haul. I'm skeptical. Being an engineer familiar with reliability calculations, I can prove this mathematically. If you guys will trust me on this, we can all get back to shaving. :)

The bells and whistles tend to be the parts that break, unfortunately. They are also the expensive parts to fix.

Agreed, Jim. My '85 Corolla had a 1600 cc 4-cyl engine (comparable to a Singer Sewing Machine, but it lacked the double stitch feature), 5-speed tranny, cloth seats, and hand cranks on the windows. It sported an AM/FM radio, A/C, power steering, and cruise control. I actually tried to find one without PS, but couldn't. Not much there to break.

    SV Manna di Sicilia
    Shave Soap & Aftershave

@jtspartan asked that I compare the SV Sicilia to the new Cubebe. So I thought I would start with the Sicilia. The scent description lists sage, orange and bergamot over a base of cedar and patchouly with middle notes off honey and tobacco. I can't say that my nose picks up any of the individual notes. My take is that of a masculine cologne scent with dry down to a woody somewhat sweet note. Overall, I find it to be a complex scent that seems to change over time. As an added bonus it gets the SWMBO seal of approval. The SV soap base is just fantastic and a joy to use. The shave was an uneventful 3 passes with touch ups and buffing my neck catching the baby with ease. A splash of the matching Sicilia aftershave left me clean shaven and ready to conquer the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Personna twin
    Razor: Schick L1
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger
    Soap: Soap Commander 13A▲
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

Easy shave this morning with the 13A▲ soap and Schick L1. Just one pass for a CCS. I've been doing one pass shaves most of the summer. I'll get back to two passes soon enough. Easy, effective shave with products that work well. Can't ask for much else.

    Have a great day!

The '02 Family Truckster now belongs to someone else. I just handed the title over. That truck has been with us a long time. It was my co-worker for more projects than I can remember. Other days it hauled a cello to and from countless music lessons and recitals.

    Goodbye ol' friend.

    Cool picture, Perry!
I contemplate a one pass shave most days. Usually when I rinse my face after the first pass. Easily SAS and better than any shave I got with a cart. I see the brush still full of lather so I keep going.

The shave was a better with the Corrado this morning as I just need more driving time with this razor. The baby was almost caught this morning but that little guy is quick. The alum was slightly warm and I finished up with the Executive Man post balm. The matching aftershave is on the way and I wish it would get here. Yeah, I know patiences!

Overall it was a nice shave to start the work day.

Y’all take care and have a great day.
