    Good morning!

The randomizer chose the Star Bakelite and B&M Beaudelaire for today. The Beaudelaire scent is wonderful and add the performance of the Excelsior soap base for an awesome start to the day.

This is only my second use of the Star Bakelite razor. I won it in a past TSD raffle, generously donated by Andrew @Linuxguile. Mild easy to use razor. Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum. Just an all around awesome shave!

    Have a great day!

    Shave Soap & Aftershave

I have a couple of new things in rotation today. First is the Stuga Red Sandalwood brush my wife brought back from Australia as a Father's day gift. The silvertip knot in the brush has nice backbone and very soft tips with a handle that feels good in the hand. I am luck that my wife and girls are supportive of my shaving disorders. Second is the SV Cubebe soap and aftershave. SV describes the scent as Citrus, balsamic notes of bergamot, lemon and white fir over a musky woody base of vetiver, labdanum, patcuouly amd benzoin. I can confidently say that my nose is not sophisticated enough to pick up all the varied notes individually. I do get a very complex cologne scent that opens bright over an earthy musky base. The scent strength off of the puck with the first use was at best 5/10. In use the SV 4.3 soap base is a joy to use. I find it easy to lather and super slick with an excellent post shave feel. Three passes with touch ups and buffing my neck caught the baby with ease. I did one weeper due to operator error. The matching Cubebe aftershave does have more of a citrus opening and a stronger scent strength. @jtspartan asked for a comparison between Sicilia and Cubebe which is a very hard call. Both are very similar complex cologne type scents with combinations that are difficult for me to pick out individual notes. I find the Cubebe scent more approachable and more of what I expected it to be if that makes sense. For now the Cubebe had it by a very slim margin. My judgement is open to change as I use the soap more. I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday .

Easy shave this morning with this combo. The Soap Commander soap is terrific quality and all my various Schick injectors provide wonderful shaves. Nothing much to report or complain about with this one.

Some great shaves and gear showing in here as usual. Enjoy your day!

Wonderful post! I read some reviews on the Varen scent on Stirling's website and wasn't sold. Now I'm certainly not sold!
