I think he says that damn near every year! I've been here 10 years this summer, and that whole scene got old after a few years, but if next years SXSW is as good or better than this years I may just spring for some badges.

I know what you're thinking...Badges, we don' need no stinkin' badges! And it's completely true. When I was....shall we say, not of legal drinking age, me and some friends used to con our way into shows during South by South West.

This is completely off topic :)happy102 on topic? here? ) but I've got to salute whoever found these:

    :transport035 - As a gearhead I approve.

:transport003 - As an F-body owner I must say that you can run, but you can't outrun a B4C (police RPO optioned) Camaro.

We have a topic for you to be "off topic"?
In the words of Sheryl Crow: "If it makes you happy, the how can it be that bad?"

Half days are nice, but usually a half day at work means a 1.5 days later.

I live 4 miles from where I work. My wife is 15 miles from her work. It takes both of us 15 minutes to get to work. Honestly, there have been days where it was faster to ride my bike to work.

I live 9 miles from work. If I'm lucky, it takes 25 minutes to get there. Otherwise it's 30 to 40 minutes. There is a section of road where there are 11 traffic lights in the span of one mile. That gauntlet takes the most time to get through, especially during rush hour. And if the gods are truly against me, I'll get stuck waiting on one of the long ass trains that go through every hour.

That used to be my daily commute but w/o the train. Now I travel almost 3x the distance in almost exactly the same time.

Not here good sir, I work 12 hour shifts and our company policy won't allow anything beyond that. Also if I'm called in on my day off they have to pay me for a minimum of 4 hours. Not that I'd go in on my day off...:happy102

Those in power rarely smile on me. I might as well plan on getting stopped at every railroad track and every red light in that 4 mile stretch. Which is why my average commute can be longer than my wife's. Actually for me it really depends on the time of day. If I leave for work before 6:30 AM, I can get there in about 10 minutes with the lights. However, traffic starts picking up at 6:30 and if I wait until 7:20 to leave, I hit high school traffic and it won't make it to work on time. So it is one of those things where I either leave for work an hour before I have to be there and have 50 minutes to kill when I get there or wait and fight traffic and possibly not make it in time or wait and drive an extra ten mile loop to avoid everything and come into work on the back roads. - which are now closed for yearly maintenance so that option isn't available again for the next 6 months or so....

My girlfriend has a theory about that, it involves an angry little man in a dark room watching you on his traffic cameras just seeing how bad he can mess up your day. :angry019

Same here. I need to sleep soon. I've got a 7p - 7a shift coming up tonight and tomorrow and trying to push through those shifts on little sleep is miserable. But I want to try steam cleaning the blade of a Henkels straight I've got. So sleep will have to wait a little longer.

I work 12 hour shifts and find that if I don't get at least 4-5 hours sleep I can't function well at work. On my days off though I can go 48+ hours with no sleep...go figure.

Got any tips for cleaning up older straights? I've got a few that laying around and more on the way that could use some attention.

    Sounds about right.

BTW: Good morning those of you who are getting up and good night those of you who are winding down from your shift.

Its the last Friday before Spring Break. Time for high absenteeism and ridiculous behavior from the kids.

Whats up ya'll! I am back and hopefully around more often. Still trying to get personal things straightened out. I did get just a new truck....well old but new for me. Had an incredible shave this AM thanks to our fabulous Tracy Dunn! I used the Mayan Gold stick and damn it was nice! The scent is quite peculiar and cant quite grasp it but its nice and warm. The coconut on the other hand is out of this world and blows every other coconut scent I have ever smelled away. I did break my sample glass of TSD Iced Lime and was quite pissed to say the least. I will be ordering the full size this time very soon b/c I cant be w/o my Iced Lime. Off to the parents house and will be later on!
