Will do Clint! I class the current threat to the same level as warnings about "black ice" in Atlanta. Give it a few hours and the sun will be shining.

    July Hurricane Barry Eve shave

ARKO shave stick in a tub
    Omega 48 boar brush
    Suribachi bowl, cool water
    Gillette NEW Deluxe, bar handle
    Voskhod blade, old & new
    M&L Florida Water, chilled
SOTD 07122019 Hurricaine Barry Eve.gif Thanks to all the worry warts watching The Weather Channel. Let's keep an eye out for any folks East of me. They are more in the path of Barry. Inspired by the ARKO chatter I used my non-descented version. Don't need to Blume this soap since it spontaneously lathers. First couple of swipes with the old NEW were tuggy so I pulled a pit stop, uncrewed the Bar handle I got in a trade with John @John Ruschmeyer, and swapped out the old blade for another of the same make. Much better for the rest of my WTG, and mighty fine on the ATG & XTG, too. Took the Joe @Trigger 1/2 pass clean up just so I could use the rest of the ARKO lather. As per Jason's @jtspartan instructions I tried mentholating my Florida Water. Didn't go to excess as it just felt mildly cooling. Usually I apply a splash of Osage Rub before the M&L so I'm not foreign to the two scents together. Results ought to have me smooth enough for all of tomorrow.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Your choice. I'd opine you purchase a new brush for the spiffed up handle. That'll let em grow old together. If you try to get the knot out of your well broken in setup it just might not like getting disturbed or transplanted. Omegas are cheap enough having a fresh one in the correct size to fit the R-400, and keeping your 4 year old makes great sense.
