    Hope she recovers well.

Had horses for about 15 years. Up to 4 at the most.

Came off my best horse at a dead run one time 'clothesline style' on a branch while racing a buddy through the woods. Broke 2 ribs. Back has never been quite the same since. Did ride home though, ribs and all.

We used to joke how horseback riding was the art of keeping the horse between you and the ground.

Never used carbon steel DE blades. Now you have me wondering.

Bet they rust easy, I'd take it out of the tool.

Fragrance/Aftershave - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum in Stoneware Jug
Scuttle - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Moonscape Scuttle

    Craving my bay rum.

***EDIT - I shaved pretty late in the morning. I cleaned up and put fresh blades in 5 razors. The bath and shave was the center of my day. I smell and look fab. Hot lather in the scuttle. Careful side-burns work then a 2-pass + extensive clean up. I chased and caught BBS pretty easily. I got a couple of weepers at the predictable Adam's Apple spot that were cured by my Pinaud styptic pencil easily. I *love* the CK6. It's the best shave soap IMO. Thirsty though. It likes a lot more water than other soaps, especially in the hot scuttle. "High Butter" is not an exaggeration. The stuff is twice as thick as any canned foam when my razor is picking it up on a pass.

The scent is awesome (my favorite bay rum). The PAA shampoo does a great job of removing the scent of my hair dye. Just thought I'd toss that out there. I'm really happy with the complete set I own. I luckily bought the hair pomade when it was previously made (I've written them twice to ask them to make another round of them). If I had known that PAA would stop making the pomade, I would have bought like 3 or 4 of them.

Anyway, fantastic shave today! The highlight of my day. Now I'm out the door to eat lunch with my brother.

Thanks ....she is on the mend. Its something she has become accustomed to unfortunately. If there is one rock in a field to be dropped on.....the horse seems to be able to find it and drop her on it so broken ribs are not uncommon. That is one of the reasons I prefer motorcycles. They don't jump 6 feet to the left or right when a leaf blows across the road!

And...... motorcycles only eat when you use them.

Hmm. 6 feet sideways. Does she have an Arabian by chance?

I recall one horse we tied plastic bags to and rode out on in hopes we could make him less skittish.

No.....nothing so elaborate. Chrissie is small and would hurt herself if she fell off a rocking horse. She has an Irish Cob (which did the damage) and the Welsh Cob which I refer to as 'Spawn of the Devil'. Leah is normally quite reserved so I don't know what went wrong.

Today I launched my new brush: 'The Fridge' armed with a dense 24 mm Finest knot.
Actually I had opted for a fan shape, but I was warned that form takes away the backbone.
And I was well advised: a great, robust massage, but with sensitive softness of the tips!

Not so enthusiastic about the BIC blade and the Tabula Rasa but, overall, a more than satisfactory shave!

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #375 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Classic Samurai razor with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Dove Men+Care Post Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This was my coldest shave since Monday when I really went to town with the heavy duty menthol. The Glacial Wintergreen soap froze my face off, had me squinting the whole time, and felt so good. The matching balm, witch hazel, and the Snake Bite aftershave put three more layers of icicles in my face. I’m not too gaga about the P&G version of Old Spice - IMHO the Shulton one smelled a million times nicer. Three passes accomplished my BBS mission!
