'Bout time for me to turn in. Been quite the day. Profitable, too. In more ways than one. :D

Got another batch of the molasses & coffee marinated pork chops in the fridge waiting to meet flame tomorrow. Once reduced, it's a smoky sweet BBQ sauce with no added sugar, and almost no added salt.

    Hi All,

Back again, but I'll bet most of you are snoozing by now. Picked up a new puck of Williams and a bottle of Old Spice AS at the grocery today. B&BW yielded some Bigelow cream for the same price I've been paying online (without the shipping charge!). I probably won't ever admit that the peppermint shea butter foot cream in that B&BW bag was for me.

So, has the price of groceries gone through the roof where you're at too? I think we spent about $150 and didn't really get that much. I'm starting to sound like my dad, who used to rant that he remembered when he could buy a big loaf of bread for five cents. Next thing you know, I'll be hanging out on the front porch in a strappy t-shirt and my bathrobe, hollering at the neighborhood kids to get the hell off of my lawn. (No, dad never did that - I'm just visualizing).

I'm so glad to not be at work today... it's making me a little giddy.

Yes groceries have skyrocketed here too. I remember that the increase was blamed on the price of fuel. So the prices had to go up and/or some manufacturers made the products smaller. Now that the price of fuel has dropped, isn't it funny that the prices have not followed suit?

A puff of smoke, a glass of rum, and thou! Beside me, whistling in the darkness.

Funny oh oh, not funny ha ha... I thought this was the oil companies game (jack up the prices early and keep them there late). I guess profitable schemes spread quickly.

For some reason, this has put the theme from The Andy Griffith Show in my head and I can't get it out...

Prices are up here too. $$ just doesn't buy much. Luckily, I have most of my own food but still have to buy some things.

Finished BSG finale. Last 30-45 minutes could have been cut.

gonna shut down for the night so I am well rested to hit Chicago tomorrow morning.

Usually I go for chili chili cheese burger, bruschetta chicken , or ensenada chicken. But after I was wanting carnitas earlier in the week (never did get them) I tried their carnitas burger. Meh.... I will save Carnitas for someplace else in the future. Not bad, it just wasn't the same.

Sorry to hear about that; however, it sounds like overall things came out not too bad. Thank fully nothing too bad by the sounds of it.

    Take care everyone!

Force your mind to sing any of the faster Led Zepplin songs for a minute or two.
    That'll take care of it.

I'll bet those goats are good eatin' :happy102

Seriously, what kind of food do you produce at home? Here, I've got some sad strawberries in the summer (I'm renting a house for now). Looking forward to the farmer's markets this summer.

    Night, Justin.

Diana Krall is doing the trick - Peel me a grape - it reminds me of SWMBO.

EDIT: Okay, you've got me hearing Black Dog. Now that I think of it, I've probably always got one song or another playing in my head. At least the voices I'm hearing are all singing...

Bong, I don't know if I've had the pleasure of meeting you yet. Have a safe trip.

Goodnight to anyone left in here. SWMBO wants to go to some flea markets early tomorrow.

Thanks for the well wishes Bill.
Good to see some new faces in the HYD, and the Den in general.
Last couple weeks have been busy, but I'll be back in a few weeks.

Good luck at the flea markets tomorrow.

I'm still here, but I might not be watching the forum.
Who knows, I might nap or something since I'm not at work.
That seems to be my M.O. the last month or so.

McD's for supper tonight. Always a mistake to eat that crap this late, but I was starving and nobody cooked at home. At least I had the fish sandwhich which isn't quite as bad as the burgers. I'll still have heartburn later.

Kept getting locked out of the site on that other computer. Why I had long periods of silence today. And now it's over. Well good night to everyone who left.

Yeah. I actually have kind of a thing about pharmaceuticals. Not that I'm a paranoid conspiracy theorist type; there are life saving uses of some modern drugs. I have kind of a problem with the industry trying to turn us all into pill poppers though. I take no prescription or other drugs over the long term. I feel they do or have the potential to do more harm than good.

I have a natural remedy for heartburn that works and it has no ill side effects. It solved my acid reflux problems; I just haven't been taking it as regular as I once did. Need to start taking it again. Anyway didn't mean to get all deep or anything. I just really think modern western medicine could use a retooling.

After thinking about my last post for a minute I feel the need to clarify a bit. I know we have some medical professionals on the board and don't want to leave the wrong impression. I'll take a well trained, good doctor any day over a faith healer or the crystal wavers up in Sedona. I'm not anti-medicine. I am an anti-make-me-dependent-on-pills person though. I simply know there are options other than synthetic pills that work and can cure many ailments.
