Congrats again.. I am sure Dave or Fuzzy could give you a rough idea on the vintage. I don't believe that any of the Gems or Stars razor had any date code system.

I did. Thought I responded in HYD.

It sounds great. Thanks again. I'll let you know what I think.

    How are things?

Very nice. A whole inch yet?

I couldn't imagine how uncomfortable I'd feel without hair on my head.

We have lots of estate sales here due to the retirees passing away, but I haven't had much luck finding antique stores that carry shave gear. Mostly they have very expensive, old furniture. And I really don't need a $3000 table for Jackie to draw and drool on!!!

What about painting it with nail polish? :happy102

The antique stores I've seen here are on Beacon Hill, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the entire nation (it's really nice there, but full of very rich people). The antique stores there are somewhat of a tourist landmark, so they're ridiculously expensive (and don't carry any shave goods).

That's right! I had forgotten about the whole nail polish incident. That was a classic. :D

How's the new chair been treating you Dom? Holding up well?

The new chair is fabulous, Shep. Very comfortable and is a huge leap in quality from the last. It should last me quite a number of years.

I picked up some morel mushrooms a few days ago. I'm a sucker for mushrooms, but I've never had morels. I think I'll cook 'em up in some white wine and garlic and try to figure out something else to eat for dinner tonight. I never did end up getting tacos the other night and I'm still craving them. Maybe I'll go out for a bit.

Glad it is working well for you. It never did that much for me, so it is in a much better home now.

    Wow! Congrats! WooHoo!!!

    Where was this flea market?

Those of you who have found razors in a flea market, what clues you in to the vendors to check?

We went yesterday to Shipshewanna on the Road. I didn't expect to see anything, but we got an early start on Christmas. Jen, saw this and I thought of you and all those college students that are surviving on Ramen...

[IMG] What college student doesn't need a ramen noodle dispenser?

And finally, from C.O. Bigelow... I know I like my razors to have some heft and a good sized handle, but I might pass on this one...

All in all I wasn't too bad. A cheap synthetic brush for traveling, some soaps, speick aftershave, a handful of samples, a Darth Vader LEGO keychain. However, as a family we were bad and daughter made out like a bandit, and then we spent a small fortune at the Cheesecake Factory.

    Hey there Justin.

The flea market I went to is in your neck of the woods. It is called Uncle John's Flea Market and is located on Rt. 41 about a mile or two north of Lowell on the east side of the road. They are open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. It was the first time I have been there in years. It really didn't have that many vendors, and many were packing up when we arrived at noon. I think when really warm weather hits they will be out in full force.

As far as vendors to check, you pretty much need to scope out every one of them. Two of the razors I found where in a clear covered wooden box tossed in with a bunch of pliers and wrenches. I almost passed them right up.

As far as Shipshewanna, isn't that open on Wednsdays and Thursdays as I recall? Again, it has been 10+ years since we made the 3 hour drive over there, but now that I have a new hobby my wife wants to go there sometime.

Mushrooms and olives are two of the greatest foods on Earth.

Those morel mushrooms were delicious. Want me to send you some, Ray?
