Thanks, Gary. Yes, I agree on the Platinum. I prefer it by a bit to Executive Man, fwiw.

Always wondered what they did to make those mountains spit up like that.

Once upon a time, a gentlemanly soul from parts known as New England, happened to notice in line at the grocery store a lovely wench leaning over to catch a whiff of his recently applied Clubman aftershave.

A certain member of his social alliance known for shenanigans that land him in the detention brig thought it a reasonable target for jollies. So it began.

Things evolved and snowballed from there.

While there may be an existence of these 'Clubman Babes' who hang out in aisle 12 of the market hoping to enjoy catching the aroma of a freshly shaven gent, it is certain that the said incident did not occur at a Piggly Wiggly.

Almost everyone, except perhaps those who come from parts known for the distillation of bourbon, knows that Mr Pig primarily serves the southeast.

Names withheld to protect the innocent.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I absolutely agree, Danny. My Bride and I are blessed to spend time with these wonderful kids, but they definitely need to be home with their families.

Praise the Lord, Paul, for your good report from the doc! That is wonderful news, my friend. You are wise to follow your doctor's orders.

    July 18-19

Z3 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed
    Rapira Super Stainless (1, 2)

Rudy Vey Chubby handle w/Shavemac Two-band knot
Third Pass Shaving Co. Red Line
Alum, Thayers WH, USB, & Alt-Innsbruck

I have enjoyed the run with the Flare Tip. It is not an aggressive razor, and I don't chase the baby with it. I aim for a very close and comfortable two-pass shave with a little buffing thrown in, and it always delivers with ease. I'll continue on with this set up for a few more shaves and then change things up a bit.

The soap from Third Pass Shaving Co. performs well. There's other stuff going on with the Red Line scent, but a slight cinnamon note stands out to me. The website describes the scent as "Spicy, with notes of cedar and cinnamon." I like it, and I even use it to prep my face before shaving and then again to clean my face in the evening before hitting the sack.

The Alt-Innsbruck aftershave/cologne pairs well with the soap, with its combination of tobacco flower and menthol scents. This juice doesn't get a lot of play 'round these parts, but it's one that I'd likely repurchase.

One of our old downtown theaters is showing movie classics from the 1960's this month. We're going with friends tonight to see Dr. Strangelove. We may return tomorrow night to see The Graduate. A couple of weeks ago, we saw Breakfast at Tiffany's. It's fun to see these old classics on the big screen. The theater even shows the old cartoons and food/drink/popcorn ads to fully immerse you in the time. It's cool to think folks were watching these movies 50 years ago when Astronauts first walked on the moon.

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.
