We saw Dr. Strangelove yesterday evening with friends. It was a political parody. If you're a Peter Sellers fan, you have got to see it. It was a great movie...clever, funny, strange...showing dead honest depictions of people during their worst moments, and it definitely causes you to think. A real classic. For an added dose of reality, I left the theater with battle scars. I slipped and fell headfirst on (carpeted - thankfully) steps. This morning, I have a black eye, a puffy check, and some residual soreness. I thought I had broken my nose, but thankfully I didn't. It's all good, and it will make for a good, possibly embellished, story when folks ask what happened.
Prayers for your whole family, Danny. My Mom spent time in assisted living. The staff loved on her and cared for her like she was family. It was a real blessing. I pray you and your Dear Mom find comfort in knowing your Dad will have the care that he needs.
Wonderful shave this morning, with a better brush than the Celtics Mascot. Yep, Jayaruh produces fine ones. I loaded better than I have in a while(perhaps with the help of the Stoylin Frost Drops). Could easily have gone for a 3rd pass, but I decided my skin was fresh, smooth, and clean enough. This 3x-milled Razorock soap should be good for at least another summer, maybe the next 2.
Wonderful shave, Paul, and definitely a nice cool shave on a hot day! I hope you continue to feel better each day, my friend.
Ouch! Glad there was no serious injury, Charlie. I'm anxious to hear the story you come up with. You against a gang of outlaw bikers? Cage fighting? You have a friend that owns a bar called the Double Deuce? The possibilities are endless. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
You're inspiring me, Jim! Are you bucking for Vice 30DC Chief Shenanigator? You've got a pretty good shot at it since @Edison Carter is still holed up in Detention and @Paul Turner is on house arrest under the guise of "doctor's orders." And @Trigger has been disqualified for 90 days due to the sordid grade inflation scheme. I'm leaning toward a spirited confrontation with a group of little old ladies that were drawn to a strong Tabac aroma. I'll need some time to refine the story, but I welcome any help my friends here can provide. (Thanks Jim. I've got a hard head, so I'm pretty sure I suffered no further lasting damage above the neck. )
July 20th Razor: '41 Gillette Ranger Tech Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3) Brush: Montalvo mixed Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated Soap: B&M Terror PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: B&M Terror Good morning! Terrific shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. In a moment of inattention I did nick my adams apple on the first pass. Sealed on it's own with a cold water rinse. First use of B&M Terror. I find it to be a clean fresh peppermint forward scent. Definitely cold but tough to compare with mentholated soaps. Have a great weekend! Charlie, let me tell you it is no guys.....I speak de truth. Looks like I'll be back in the gym before @Trigger's return.
July 20 Good morning, guys! Straight Razor Shave #89 Ralph Aust 6/8 Spanish Point Stirling Boar Brush Glastonbury SS and AS Stirling Brush did a great job face lathering. I like this brush but differs from the Omega boar. The Stirling boar has softer bristles and a milder backbone. However, I prefer the Omega 49. I did my usual 2.5 passes with the fool's pass. I got a marvelous shave with one tiny weeper that disappeared without styptic or witchhazel, but with cold water. Finished the shave with the Glastonbury AS. It was a great start to the morning to have a nice close, smooth and comfortable shave! Have a great Saturday guys!
