Just a little Max Headroom nostalgia for the masses......

The term 'cut to the chase' meaning is generally recognized to mean delivering the message with minimum verbiage.

Most think the origin to be in film making. I think not!

Having been a lifelong student in the field of printing, I say it goes back to newspapers, where the publishers were also the printers. A "chase" is the metal frame/hardware used to hold, contain and transport movable printing type into the printing press. The person responsible for this type assembly or lockup was known as the composer. "Cutting to the chase" would have meant to minimize or cut the the amount of physical type used so the story would fit inside this specific boundary, "the chase".

Much of the terminology of the craft is all but lost, however Benjamin Franklin would have known exactly what "cut to the chase" meant in practical terms.

    Thanks for listening all.

I love famous quotations and "idioms"(I think that's what "cut to the chase" is, right?)

I actually shop at Piggly Wiggly at times. We most frequently use Aldi and Walmart for groceries since it's cheaper. Publix at times, Winn Dixie, Piggly Wiggly. Trader Joes and Whole Foods a few times a year. That's about the only choices in the Birmingham area. Walmart has grocery pickup which is very convenient when you have a 4 year old.

This is the fancy new Piggly Wiggly about 10 minutes from our new location:

Incredible beer and wine selection, big deli, nice meat and three area, etc. Pretty great store.

Supply Co V2 with 2 dot plate
    Personna
Rudy Vey Rover with TGN Finest
    Asylum Colonia
    Shave Soap & Aftershave

I slept in this morning and made the decision to relax a little today. The little Rover loaded and lathered the Asylum Colonia with ease. Three passes, touch ups and buffing my neck easily caught the baby. A splash of the matching Colonia aftershave and I am ready for a demanding day of doing as little as I can. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

    I actually worked...... once.

    Never liked it!

Then I got a job where I watch others work.

Now it's not so bad, I could do this work thing all day.

    Proraso PS Red
    WK Dark Vetiver SS
    Semogue OC Cherrywood Boar
    Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple
    Fine Fresh Vetiver AS

2.5 pass DFS- today. Very early shave today (4:45am). Working weekend, just now getting to post.

No drama, weepers or any shenanigans to report. The WK SS and Semogue Boar created a slick aromatic bliss to wake up and shave to. Filarmonica DT was a little skippy, even after some CrOx and strop work. Needs just a little work on the 12k stone it seems. Finished off with the Fine AS. 5 hours later and still a great face feel. Lower right neck the elusive critter today.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Great shave, Blair! Thought about you yesterday. The equipment managers (a committee of band dads who specialize in loading all the stuff) are meeting at the school tomorrow to get organized and make a game plan for the season. We rented a scissor lift for practices so I can get higher and see the formations better. We don't have a tower currently as we share our practice field with the soccer program. The student leaders and I will be painting the field tomorrow while the other crew is working on equipment stuff. Thank you for being one of those amazing and reliable parents who help make everything go smoothly!

Thanks guys. I appreciate the concern. It was definitely a case of not watching my step and hurrying back to my seat before intermission was over.

I have no plans to visit the doc, Paul, as long I'm feeling OK. I'll actually see my doc tomorrow at church. If he gets after me after seeing my black eye, I'll make an appointment. :)
