This one was an interesting one for me... Marshall Field & Co. razor made in Sweden. I worked for the Dayton-Hudson Corp. for a few years in the early 2000’s. For those not familiar, they changed their name to its more well known brand, the Target Corporation, in 2000. Marshall Field’s was also part of the brand from 1990-2004. Add in that this very much looks like the works of a Heljestrand MK32, and I couldn’t resist. It has that Ebonite look/feel/smell to the scales. A little rubbery, starting to discolor on the backside and a sulphur’ish smell when rubbed. Fun razor find for me. Happy hunting. Tom
And just to add to Tom’s post re: Target, many of us have Hibbard, Spencer, and Bartlett of Chicago razors and accessories. The company eventually took the name of one of their house brands, True Value. They’re still around. But I bet my HSB warranty isn’t any good. Or maybe it is? ‘Oh yes Steve56, we will refund your money. Here’s a dollar, thank you for your patronage.’
Puma Gold 77 in Mother of Pearl with case. With the exception of a small part of the edge that will need some work, the razor seems factory fresh. The gold is extremely well preserved. And the Mother of Pearl looks flawless. I use my razors, but to be honest, this may be the first one that I will have to think about. I know, I know, it’s a tool... but a very pretty tool. Happy hunting. Tom
Thanks Gary! Most of these I have seen are in Puma’s more familiar yellow or black scales, but I do think MOP was an option for this razor.
That is a beautiful razor Tom. I use mine too not a single one goes unused, but that might be one to use only for special occasions.
Mike Martinez Karasu This razor is a beast, I actually ordered both of these razors over a year ago, I still have one more razor from Mike to be delivered. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
