1. Don't think The Box will suffer for resting a short time. Wouldn't want it to spontaneously combust from shipping friction.
Jeff said it, and that makes it so!
Oh, don't go making us act like adults now. We're having too much fun! But yes. You guys are a great crew and I'm enjoying playing this game. TSD is serious business!

  3. I received a very nice 1953 Gillette President from @gorgo2 as part of the Traveling Box

    001.JPG

I did a little research and found out that this is reportedly the most aggressive of the Presidents and after three shaves I would say that it is more aggressive than any of my Aristocrats.

This is my first President (Diplomat) so I'm having a great time with it.

I checked out your new avatar and thought you had donned a spacesuit in recognition of Apollo 11 but then I looked closer and saw that you’re deep sea diving.
Have you had a chance to dive into the box?

  9. Good Takes, great Gives!

I've figured out how the Old Spice mugs reproduce - put two of them in a dark cabinet and wait a little while. I think I'm at 5 or 6 now. The ceramic type are hardest to find. Lots of variation in the glass style, too.
That is a Japanese tea cup? Not textured inside like a suribachi grinding dish?
I got those from Round One - good stuff! A small crystal crushed makes for powerful mentholated lather. Ground up some and added to M&L Florida water for light cooling. It dissolved right in. When I refill the decanter, I'll boost it stronger.
  10. This round may prove to be better than the first time!
If I may, when you use the AutoStrop, try to stick with a despined gem style blade. I have noticed the feather blades for those razors aren't worth the price and only last for about a shave or a shave and a half!

  12. That'll work. Gives you some time to pick up gear in the wild, test it, and decide if it stays or if it goes. Stranger Things have happened!

Correction: suribachi dish I could not remember the term.

Having used the omega I have to say I have been Missing out on big boars.. if only I wasn't so impatient it seems like you have wait forever while they soak.

  15. I had my eye on a Symmetrical Pottery until I saw a photo of a suribachi. My first one was just a scoosh too small. Made a trade with Jack @Sparrow who lives in Japan. He picked up a couple of very nice authentic dishes for me. Well, was 4, but I traded one, sent one to my son. Best bowl for lathering I've ever used, and I've since quit looking.
Naw, dip em and get to making lather. I say that as I started with Omega boars and enjoy the breaking in process. It spoiled me to floppy badgers. Haven't yet found a badger I like more than a stiff scratchy scrubby O' Pro 48 or 98 knot.
