Halfway thru a working vacation and time had been scarce. Even so, I had some time for a visit to a new thrift store. Did not find nothing that impressed me until a spotted this walking out the door. Ralph Lauren Safari aftershave and cologne. Aftershave is full and the cologne is about 60% remaining. Nice score, but alas, no Safari shaving soap
You do indeed. That's a good score. The aftershave has been discontinued for a long time. The cologne is still in production. Edit: Both are best used in moderation. It's not a subtle scent.
Upscale barbershop. lavender, geranium, bergamot. Leather base. Spicy top note. Dries down to a soapy, clean, leather. Vintage projects strongly due to oakmoss. Reformulated version smells the same but lacks projection and longevity. It's sophisticated and well balanced for a Ralph Lauren fragrance. English leather + barbershop + a splash of Pinaud Clubman = Safari for Men Edit: Or there's this gem that I wrote a few years back: "On a whim, I went out and bought the Safari for Men Eau de Toilette (having read that the fragrance was reformulated to be a bit lighter, less Axe-like). I figured even if I didn't like it, I could still display the classy bottle with the rest of my Safari loot. Tentatively, I sprayed some on my wrist and brought it up for a whiff. Spicy with a hint of floral. This sucks, I thought. A minute later, i decided to take another whiff. A powdery lavender with with a hint of citrus met my nose, with a slight hint of spice underneath. Fantastic! An old school barbershop scent, done with an upper class twist. Not long after, the leather, spice and woods started to make their presence known, peeking through the florals before finally stepping out to dominate the stage. Even then, I'd occasionally catch a whiff of lavender from time to time throughout the day. I've never used a cologne that smells so mature and masculine - clean, yet dirty at the same time. This stuff is manliness in a bottle..." https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/ralph-lauren-safari-for-men-collection.45931/
This is Buck (renamed from Max). Old owner was told Newfoundland/ Lab. Test results say 12.5% each for Swiss Shepherd (basically German Shepherd), Golden Retriever, Chow and Staffy. He's seven months old and in a growth spurt...I knew I was seeing more hints of Shepherd recently. If the results are accurate, he's not a bad mix for a mutt. Good dog. He already loves the girls and they adore him.
Yup. Loveable mutts. Lots of good potential traits in this guy, though there's no guarantee they'll necessarily show up. But he's already acts like a Goldie.
Part 1 of today’s mail call is PAA’s Copalli solid cologne which I won from Douglas Smythe’s giveaway last week. He even left in the package a thank you note. Part 2 is The matching shave soap and aftershave Copalli; along with 2 sample packets of Chel. If I’m not mistaken Chel is a pre shave gel that cools your shave.
Today’s mail call! My second Senator Gillette Rocket Made in England. Need to do some research to see exactly which one if I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
