Whew....
For a moment I was hoping no one mentioned why Yassir Arafat was kept waiting in the Rose Garden. What happened in the room off the Oval office is between Bill and Monica, and The Grand Jury.

And never eat the peanuts off the bar. You know some guys don't wash their hands.

 

True story. About 30 years ago, well 32 to be exact, I moved up to South Dakota for my second try at college and got a job as an orderly in the nursing home in Huron, South Dakota. We had one of the sweetest little old ladies there who always kept a bowl of candy by her bed. And, because she was a sweet old Grandmother, she would offer candy to all of the nurses, aides and anyone else who came in. Part of the initiation for new aides on the floor was to tell them that it was ok to accept a piece of candy. It was mostly the old hard candies - unwrapped - you know the kind. When the newbie would be offered the candy and accept everyone would watch and wait until they popped that wonderful candy in their mouths. Then we'd finally let them in on why none of us were accepting any. The sweet little Grandma with the candy bowl? Used that bowl to relieve her bladder during the night. Then, she'd dutifully wipe it out after emptying it in the morning (notice I didn't say scrub, use soap or anything else), put the candy back in and be good for the day. Somehow peanuts off the bar doesn't seem so bad.

 

When I was in the printing ink business some of these materials were used as colorants. Many were called for in food contact conditions.

I've read iron oxide honing paste is very gentle and can produce very smooth finishes. I may have even heard it referred to as jewelers rouge. I have a balsa strop pasted with it, as well as others. Still finding my way on the different stropping abrasives though.

The well known abrasives for refreshing a straight is the chromium oxide, iron oxide on strops. Aluminum oxide, cerium oxide and silicon carbide are the abrasives on lapping film.

 

You read right. No more manual transmissions. Automatics are now more economical, and can out perform a manual. You can't even get an American work truck with a manual transmission anymore. Personally I like manual transmissions and shifting gears.

Had to get up early
Tests in the big city
2 hours there, 2 hours back, then work rest of the day. Home by 8 or 9 ish.
This is a shave that starts a long day off right!

Good morning!

Wonderful shave to start the day. Three passes for near BBS. I stuck with the RT for six consecutive shaves, every one was excellent! The randomizer has already chosen tomorrow's razor and it's not the Ranger. Very happy to have added this razor to my rotation.
