Thanks, Clint! When I first received the razor the plan was to let it patina. The patina that was forming was real splotchy. I didn't like it at all so now I just keep it shiny. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I don't really like the uneven patina on my Karve but I polished enough brass in the Army to last a lifetime.
July Focus Meißner-Tremonia~~Simpson~~Dovo A new soap/AS today. Picked this up at the latest West Coast Shaving 30% sale. I have had two other MT soaps: Dark Limes Soap & Strong & Scottish Cream. Both have left Primo's den. This soap is not going to win any awards, but the price was right and the scent of the Indian Flavours is appealing. Pure essentail oils of coriander seeds, lemongrass and mint are combined with ground annatto seeds. That sounds pretty exotic, doesn't it? To Primo's nose, it smells like orange. The lather takes on a unusual consistency. Fluffy, but lumpy. (I had the same experience with the Dark Limes) It never reaches that glistening appearance that we all strive for. Now, that isn't to say that the lather is a bust. It's perfectly serviceable and provides a good base for the blade. Speaking of blades...the Dovo is due for a tune up, or shall we say, refreshening. Gave me a fairly rough shave today and I stopped after two passes with a barely achieved DFS. Some smooth parts, mos def© but not what Primo requires for shaving nirvana. The MT juice has a nice zing and while the shave could have been better, the process was interesting and still quite enjoyable. Tomorrow...MT Lavender.
July 24, 2019 Supply Co V2 with 2 dot plate Personna Zenith B25 Olive Wood Boar B&M Bay Rum Captain’s Choice Bay Rum Very busy morning already. I had to have a medical exam for some new life insurance and now I am on the way to the office to tie up some things before leaving for Barcelona later today. At least I was able to get in a relaxing shave this morning. The Zenith lathered up the B&M Bay Rum with ease. Three passes and touch ups ended just short of a BBS. As expected my lower right neck helped the baby escape. A splash of CC Bay Rum and I am ready for a very long day. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Jim, we all know your Den and your garage are patina-free zones. We'd sooner see Clubman in @clint64's den, Country and Western music playing in @Primotenore's den, @wchnu blooming his MdC, or @Paul Turner launching into a wild buying frenzy.
Great photo Joseph. I have wondered about the MT soaps. Thanks for the honest review. Now I can mark it off the list.
It used to be that Country&Western could be playing in MY den(as I enjoy my Clubman), but today's C&W(in my opinion) is........................................................ crazy.
Beautiful shave, Clint. Safe travels, my friend. I hope you and Swati get some rest on the long flight to Barcelona. Have fun, and keep us posted on your travels when you can.
