I think this fix on the handle may work, it feels very solid. There's a hairline crack that's visible, but hopefully some sanding this evening may make that greatly difficult to see

 

Sensei, you must provide pictures. Did you reattach it, or go with the 2nd wood route?

glued it back together with some powerful glue...will provide pictures when I get home from work this afternoon - will do both before sanding and after

 

Annnddddd the winner of the BBS smooth leg competition last night was the right leg and R89! Minimal stubble there this morning. R89 wins 2 by a narrow margin!

 

we may need photographic evidence, and the concurrence of a panel of unbiased members for valid results.....

 

I just accidentally knocked the handle off my desk here at work, my heart stopped for a few moments...still in one piece!
if I hadn't had the heavy lathe parts attached to it last night, I'm certain it would not have broken in the first place...I really should learn to not get in a hurry when I'm almost done with a project
