The Haul: July 2019

Today’s visit to a thrift store that just moved yielded some scores. Being they moved, all the junk was gone but these two hones were in plain site. A Japanese water stone and a Norton razor hone. The waterstone is unknown, have to research the trademark. The Norton, 5x2”, is one you don’t see everyday, especially at a thrift stone

I believe the Norton stone was either made in Troy, NY or Niagara Falls, NY; it all depends on its age.

picked up today at the post office..murphy and mcneil soap and splash, gillette cool wave splash..

 

Monday mail call is PAA CaD soap and aftershave. As I'm sniffing the soap I ask myself one question. Why did I wait so long to buy this set? It's that awesome if you're into barbershop scents, and I'm a big fan of barbershop scents.

 

Someone moved out and tossed a perfectly sound 6' long futon/bed frame. Sanitized it, all it needed was the mattress. Being the cheapskate that I am, Big Lots had 24" lounge cushions on clearance.




Good enough.

 

Some soaps and some A/S, pics below. Really impressed by their customer service. An A/S leaked in the box and was empty on delivery. I contacted Rod and he had a replacement A/S plus some sample soap in my hands 2 days later. He’s in Arkansas and I’m in NJ so we’re not close. Very impressed by their customer service.
