Barrister and Mann Latha Limon Soap
    Sandlewood Preshave Oil

First shave with this razor, took about halfway through to get used to it. It was very impressive shaving my head.

I used my TI...im getting way too cocky, cut myself thrice!!...I seem to be hurrying tho I have no idea why...everything was going great, but this will make me slow down a tad and hopefully avoid cuts n nicks, nothing bad right enough, just (imo) me thinking I have this sr thing down to a "T" and I get my arse kicked, im actually shaving too quick...I am drawing the razor way to quickly over my skin and taking huge long strokes...like from the top of my cheek to well under my jawline in one go...thats just stupid...especially for a noob...lesson learnt.

I wanted to use a shavette and also perform a daily double. I did the first WTG with the Feather SS and an ATG with the Alpha Ecliptic. Final touchups with the Feather. Great tools produce great results. :)

Yes, but not that much, it was a fine shave. In all fairness, the coticule was freshly lapped and not burnished from use, and I didn’t do anything special with it. I’m expecting to improve that edge as it burnishes and I figure out what it likes. Lighter pressure is the next thing to try I think, stuff to bring up a polish/finer scratch pattern.

After refreshing one of my other Russians with an Arkie I decided they should all get a little of the same loving. My favorite 1941 ZTV came up smoother and sharper - just like I like it. :happy036:

Wonderful shave today, from a German made razor. I had a silky smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. Sharp, and very smooth shaver.

    Razor- Bismarck. Solingen Germany
Brush- B400 By Tom. Omega Boar knot. Excellent brush.
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Arctic Blue, by HEB grocers.

    Cold Water Rinse
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    The Brush by Tom
    H. Böker 5/8
    CWR
    Granddad's Blend AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with The Brush by Tom. I did two passes with the H. Böker 5/8 razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Demascara.jpg Another in my collection that has a 200k edge. This was the first hone I did early in my use of a SR. It has always been a good edge, but now the diamond has refined it even more. Happy shaves all!!

Hayashi Diamond 1072 covered tang, cream was SMN lathered with a Simpsons Commodore X1, and a splash of Myrsol finished up a perfect shave.
People seem to really like the Hayashi 1072, but maybe don’t realize that it isn’t really a full size razor until they see it in person. It’s an 11/16 and the tang is tiny top to bottom. It was probably meant for lady barbers/shavers, but regardless it shaves extremely well.

The commodore is one of Simpsons lower end offerings, but as with everything in this hobby, there are exceptional examples of most everything, and this one has a dense, perfectly made Best Badger bulb that will lather anything. The handle is a little short for my taste, but it also means that it will fit in a pill bottle and makes a perfect little travel brush.
