As a matter of fact, he was. And it took about a year of daily five-mile walks to train him. He's now a fantastic beast.

 

Strange situation earlier with my car. I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Just crossed over 100,000 miles a few weeks back. Did some work just prior to the 100k mark (new spark plugs, 4 new tires, etc). This car has the proximity key fob and push button start. I went out earlier to leave and run some errands and the screen said that a key wasn't detected in the vehicle, so I come back in and put in a new battery in the fob (2032 battery, ala watch battery). But still nothing with the car. Then, nothing worked, nothing at all. Almost like it went into protection mode. Buttons for the gas tank and trunk wouldn't work. Even the emergency starting method didn't work, so it must be the battery.

I get it jumped off and drive over to Advance Auto Parts for a check. Their machine says the battery is good. It starts right up again and I go to a few places for my errands. Then, on the way home I start to lose acceleration and the RPM drops a little below 1,000. That happened twice. I have to push the gas pedal almost to the floor and it kicks back in. This reminds me of prior behavior in some of our cars. I'm guessing this is an alternator issue.

My car and engine knowledge is just about zilch. For you car people on the thread, does that sound like alternator problems?

 

It is a clean scent, but it isn't overpowering. The scent doesn't stay too long while shaving, but I am ok with it. I like it, but I wish it would be stronger. Although it is a summer scent, I would use it throughout the year because the scent doesn't linger. My favorite scents are Piacenza and Satsuma.

The two problems you describe sound unrelated.
The second problem you describe doesn't sound like an alternator to me. I would think when the battery was tested they would have tested the entire charging system. Sounds more like a problem with an ignition coil(s). My automotive experience dates back to pre computer controlled vehicles so I'm just guessing. The newer vehicles are just plain voodoo to me. I would be curious to hear what you find the problem to be.

I had a dog who strongly wanted to go out at 2:30 am, when he came in.... OMG. He had been sprayed by a skunk and was rubbing his face in the carpet. That was fun pre-dawn activity cleaning him and the carpet up. Fortunately he did not do it again.

 

Sunday shave: I have always struggled with Sheffield steel, I can get them to shave but not as sharp or as smooth as my other razors. Today I tested two, a Wade and Butcher and a George Wostenholm. Better than in the past but not to the level I want. I have tried various things but I guess I need to keep experimenting.

Razor: George Woshenholm & Wade and Butcher

Soap: Fine
AS: Enhanced Florida Water AS
Scent: Dior Cologne Royal

 

This morning's shave was the Dove 6/8. Didn't seem quite as sharp as it could be. The usual 3.5 passes gave an okay shave, but just okay. I'll have to give it the pasted balsa for tomorrow. Everything else about the shave was first-rate.

 

The scales on the George Wostenholm are interesting. My first thought was "My Little Pony: Shaving Is Magic".

So, it's an ok shave. It's alright because you know it can be refreshed to give you a nice shave. I like the brush handle, Robert!

 

In my equestrian days I was on a moonlight trail ride with a group of friends when we got that aroma in a richness I'd never experienced before.

I was too dark to see where the culprit was but light enough for an experienced rider to make a run for it....something we couldn't do because of the safety of others (if one horse runs, the 'herd flight' nature makes them all want to).

We proceeded along through the rich and thick pungent nastiness at our leisurely pace. All I could think of was having to take a tomato juice bath when I got home.

Thankfully, nobody got sprayed, but the offending striped offender had to have been within feet or yards.

Amazing how foul one of them 'cute little things can smell.
