Sun 28th July RazoRock Syn 24mm Arko- grated stick Occams V2 /no2 plate Schick Proline [ 8 ] Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion Knowing that I am out for a long day and up early, I settled for a no rush Shave using the Occams that I have used to ensure the scratches on my facedo not open up. That Arko is cheap but that does not mean a thing as it produces a good effective lather. One cannot appreciate the quality of the Shave that this Razor delivers unless you try it. Despite the Blade being in its 8th outing , the Shave was smooth and comfortable, and the finish quality Top Notch.
Blackland Sabre L2 Pal Super Carbon After five days of vintage Gem type razors it seemed only natural to go modern and the Sabre more than held its own. A face stroking Sunday shave. Happy Shaving one and all.
SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap The Brush by Tom Ever-Ready Lather Catcher Vintage Gem Cutlery SE CWR Granddad's Blend AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with The Brush by Tom. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Traditional Sunday shave with a single edge is my preference and it ended with a stellar shave with my vintage Gem Damaskeene OC. Razor : Gem Damaskeene OC 1912-15 MFG Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (6) Soap : Italian barber Amici Brush : Razorock Plissoft Pre shave: Shower + Aloe vera gel Post shave : Alum + cold water rinse Post shave : Italian barber Amici splash + Nivea balm + witch hazel Results= CCS,DFS,BBS Have some great shaves!
That Dammo looks bereft without it's bar. I'll quite happily look after it and give it all the care it needs. Cheers Gary, Shane at Blackland did a marvellous job designing a modern Gem type razor.

Mon 29th July RazoRock Plissoft 22mm P & B Pall Mall Occams V2 / No2 plate Schick Proline [ 9 ] Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion Just had to have another Shave with this Razor just to test blade longevity. Generally the Shave was smooth enough though a bit buggy around the chin, the overall finish quality really showed the blade was past its best. Maybe , I will investigate changing heads to a No3, though the Razor on medium aggressive plate shaves me extremely well.

Tues 30th July Vulfix 404 mixed Vitos Super Red Occams V2 / No3 plate Schick Proline [ 1 ] Jaguar Prestige A/S lotion Today I used the Occams with a No3 plate. Removal of set screws securing the plates need use of a Philips No1 driver with a good handle. The No3 plate fitted perfectly. I used a Schick Proline blade, and there was plenty of blade feel, and the Shave Time seemed quicker, but felt a bit harsh around the Chin. The use of a milder blade as suggested by the Maker might have been a better choice of blade. Have ordered some Pro Guards direct fro Rakuten / Japan.
Blackland Vector Feather Pro Super I got my Vector back from its travels today and it returned with a tub of Tallow & Steel, an artisan who was next on my list to try. I didn't quite nail it in, the lather was a bit thin but I think it's definitely a case of user error. Scent wise I like it a lot. I couldn't quite work it out from the tub, but once lathered it releases a wonderful spiced orange aroma. I can't wait to get the best out of this soap. Happy Shaving one and all.
