Terry, try loading the Williams just a little more and I think you will get the lather that you want. And foamy lather tells me that you need to facelather for another minute or so. Modern Williams can be finicky but I think you almost had it figured out. Clayton Sent from my LG-K450 using Tapatalk
July 31 Z3 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed Rapira Super Stainless (2) Rudy Vey Chubby handle w/Shavemac Two-band knot Third Pass Shaving Co. Red Line Alum, Thayers WH, USB, & Alt-Innsbruck With few exceptions, this was my setup for July. I enjoyed nice and easy two-pass shaves with a classic DE razor that became eligible for Medicare this month. I introduced one new soap (Third Pass Shaving Co. Red Line) and worked toward finishing up a container filled with two tubes of C.O. Bigelow shave cream. In one more shave, I'll finish up a tuck of Rapira Super Stainless blades. At that point, I'll jump into my Adjustable August focus with a birth quarter Gillette Slim loaded with fine Japanese steel. As always, it was fun riding along with you all this month. Have a fantastic day, gentlemen!
July 31 SOTD: Razor: Schick Krona Blade: Gillette Nacet Brush: PAA Starcraft Lather: PAA Pineapple Bay Rum Aftershave: PAA Pineapple Bay Rum This soap purchase was inspired by @Linuxguile, and it is really fun. The pineapple adds a definite twist to the Bay Rum. The pineapple fades on the dry down of the AS. It definitely set up a nice shave this morning. It was my typical two pass DFS, and with this nice scent, my day is off to a good start. I hope everyone has a great day!
A few announcements: 1. I'm back from New England... 2. I returned to find a pile of international packages that had been returned due to needing "customs forms". Ergo, if you live outside the continental US and have yet to receive your shavey award, I'm working on it. 3. During our "screen-less" trip, I learned that I have become seriously addicted to my phone. In order to reduce my stress, I've removed email and internet from the phone. As such, I'll be following along MUCH less in the future. I love you guys, but hate the stress and borderline mania that the overuse/over-dependence on my phone is producing, so I'll be "hanging around the fringes" a bit more, and mixing it up in the middle of things a bit less. You may now return to your regularly scheduled discussion of whatever it is you were discussing (presumably with some shaving related stuff thrown in).
July Focus Czech & Speake~~Simpson~~1947 Gillette~~Personna 74 Last shave of July and I changed it up with this just-acquired 1947 Gillette Super-Speed. I have told the story, but it bears repeating. Third one I have owned. Sold two. Fact is, someday I won't be able to use a straight (hopefully MANY years from now) and I want to have my favorite DE's in my den. Therefore, the '47. Great soap with the C&S. The lavender is magnificent and the slickness is unbeatable. The veteran Personna 74 was up to the task and was smooth as silk. Which, BTW, my skin is as well as the 48 hour growth was deftly eliminated. Splashed on some Cigar Aficionado AS for a top-notch finish to the shave and to a great month of shaves. See you in August!
I had my annual physical yesterday and got a good report across the board. It will be interesting to see my lab results in a few days. My doc told me that I had followed his instructions over the past year better than any of his patients in the last 20 years. I was both surprised and somewhat sad to hear that. I have some minor shoulder pain from the move, and my doc gave me some shoulder exercises to try "for a couple of weeks." I was afraid to ask what the next step might be. For anyone needing a time telling device, I've been looking at Seiko diver watches. The Seiko "Turtle" (named after the case style) is a reissue of a classic dive watch produced in the 70s and 80s. It comes in several different options including dial color, case finishing, strap, bracelet, country of manufacture, special edition, etc. Just thought I would share...
Nice, Joseph! I'll have to keep an eye out for a '47 Super Speed. You didn't steer me wrong on the Ranger Tech. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
