    Williams Wednesday- 31st July.

    Simpson Chubby 1 / Maggards 2 band
    Williams Mug Soap
    Occams V2 / No3 plate
Kai Captain Titan mild Pink [ 1 ]
    Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

I am still in the learning phase with this Razor. On a No 2 plate [ medium] using either a Feather Pro/ Schick Proline I get smooth and comfortable Shaves, with a super close finish. A down side is that a Shave takes longer than normal, but as I do not have to rush out to work that is not a problem.

I have now changed plates and am using a No3 plate [ aggressive]. Yesterday I tried a Schick Proline which I thought a bit harsh working around the chin. The Maker recommends the use of a Pro guard blade but as I have not got any, I tried out a Kai Captain Titan Pink as an alternative. The Shave was very good , lots of blade feel showing how the Shave was progressing and a lot less harsh when working around the chin. The Shave Time was significantly
shorter than when using the Razor on the No2 plate , very similar time wise to when I use other AC/SEs & the likes of an ER Streamline/1924. For me with a choice of plates, this really is a surprisingly good Razor. Probably the best AC/ SE Razor that I have used.

The Occams [ aka Orens] is quite versatile as it offers different degrees of aggression, by fitting different plates. I used it initially with Plate 2 [ Med Aggressive ] and find it shaves smoothly and comfortably, and delivers a great close Shave though Shave Time takes longer than usual for me.

The most aggressive plate is No3, and it is recommended that a milder blade is used, I tried a Schick Proline and found it rather harsh. I now have had two shaves with a Kai Pink, which is very effective at clearing my beard in quick time, but it is quite capable of biting if indiscriminate moves are made by the operator between shaving strokes.

Rather a shame that with Shipping costs and the Import/ RM ransom, the price of the Occams almost doubles to those of us on this side of the pond, as it is a Razor that really does deliver Top Class Shaves despite its odd looks.

I don't know how and where you guys working on a blade carrier for the E-Speed are establishing an exposure setting but I'm really happy with where I am now. I wouldn't presume the bevel is identical between the Proline and stock so I think experimentation is worthwhile.[[IMG]

    RazoRock Syn. 24mm
    De Vergulde Hand soap
    ATT SE1 & Windrose handle
    Schick Proline [ 2 ]
    Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

After a few days of good Shaves with the rather lightweight Occams V2, I rather enjoyed the heft of the ATT SE1. I settled for a quick not going anywhere
special Shave, which is more than passable.

But then there are some that say Dial, as you point out:

Alum block indicates very little irritation and just a great razor with modern blades, You do not see many of these razors for sale and there might be a few reasons because they are a great razor for collections and time has claimed them because they were used a lot (I have a worn out one that was beloved by previous owner by just the wear indications.) and in it's day was a technology marvel with the skin tension bar (gimmick?) . The bar was eventually replaced with just a simple cap that acted as a skin tension possibly, but in the evolution of Gem razors the GEM junior bar is just a great razor in my opinion!
    Have some great shaves!

The Schick adjustable is a sought after razor to this day and I have been eyeing them over. I think one of the models had a cap that slipped over the head for travel also?
@Jayaruh or @wchnu might be able to help with your Question because they have been longer into Vintage razors more than I.
Here is some additional information on Schick as a time line.

A fabulous Fat Friday, it's still one of my favourite soaps and possibly the best vfm out there, even more so if you buy the Kent version allegedly.
