This has been a long time in the making. Beyond happy is an understatement.
Without further ado I present the Kanayama 80k!

Really happy with this strop and it’s leather is just so nice and smooth. I ended up switching the suede so that it was hanging on it’s own and put the canvas behind the leather.

Took it for a test drive and I’m ver please. Happy to have this great item in my den.

Thanks everyone. Been in my want to buy list for ages.

Noticed there was a sale at one of the vendors and convinced my wife that I could use an early 35th birthday present lol.

    Wow. Nice!

    Now for the math......
    I'm a little older, but for numbers sake let's say I'm 60.......

    60-35=25

So if the Lovely Mrs Headroom is 25 birthday strops behind.....

I should be able get..... :signs002:

Very nice, I've owned two Kanayama 80K great strops, love the suede surface before you hit the leather, never liked the cotton surface, even after it's been softened using conditioner.

Yes the fabric is a little stiff. I don’t mind it actually, my previous fabric was a polyweb from SRD so I’m used to rough jarring strops lol. I agree with you though the suede is just amazing. It feels like stroping on velvet.

Haha. Well it took me 10 years to wear her down enough to let me buy the kanayama. Maybe in another 20 you’ll get that Ferrari? Lol

I quite agree, I’ll only use the cotton on full or near wedges and only during honing sessions as it is far too aggressive.
