Well, I don't know how you guys are doing, but a tornado just ripped through my front lawn. Knocked some trees over, crushed a fence, took my brand new tool shed on a trip down the block, drove a 2X4 through my the gas tank of my bike. No one was hurt and the house is intact, but sometimes it's hard to enjoy a weekend where I live. :D

    Morning guys.
It's my turn to work the weekend... yay...
Two 12's and two more normal weekdays... but then I get Wed-Sun off so I guess I can't complain too much.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good Saturday. I'll be back later.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to point you to the General Forum. It was a bad week for the family. My dad died on Monday. He would have wanted me to post something here for you guys. He talked alot about how it was odd that someone who he had never actually met could invoke such warm feeling in his old heart. He cared alot about his freinds here in HYD, and I want you all to know how much I appreciate that. From time to time, I will drop in and say hello now that Rolls is gone. He would have liked for me to keep chatting with you guys. Well, I have to go cut some wood and get it all split before sundown.

:(:(:( I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't say I knew him, but he was instrumental in me becoming active here in The Den last week. He seemed to be a very nice guy and was proud to call HYD his "spot" on the forums.

My condolences to you and your family.

    Morning everyone.

Seems our old friend Rolls has moved on to a better place.

Rolls was probably best known for some of the goofy things he had done. From his mouldy bread experiment, his night time commando raid on his truck, and most recently the burning truck incident. But Rolls was also a wealth of shaving knowledge. On more than one occasion he provided tips to me, and others, from his 50+ years of shaving experiences.

We will all miss you Rolls, you will always be our PITA

    where is it you reside?
glad everyone is okay, stuff can be replaced
So sorry to hear that. I was becoming suspicious and afraid that this had come to pass. For all his antics, your Dad had a good heart. He will be sorely missed.

I live outside of Fayetteville, NC. I was safe at work when it happened, so I had no idea until I came home late last night. As you said, though, stuff can be replaced.

Jfever, sorry for your loss. :(

I have been out of the loop for a while but would like to show my respect to Rolls. What an incredible man. He will be missed dearly. I will sink back into my hole now:(

    Good day to you all.

Thank you very much for popping in and letting us know, Jason. I'm at a loss for what to say. I've always loved his company. We had a lot of fun crashing the HYD thread by accidentally overloading the software together some time ago. :D

Rolls will be missed sorely (he will always be our PITA, as Tracy says). My condolences to you and the family, Jason. I'm glad he became part of the family again before his time was up.

    yup

it's amazing the atmosphere that can be felt on an online community amongst a bunch of people who don't even really know each other in real life, but so affected in reality by a virtual world .... did that make any sense?

It made complete sense. I'm sitting here in disbelief.

would anybody else want to put together a newbie kit with some of the same gear that rolls liked and PIF it?

I think that is a great idea Jen. I will have a look to see if I have anything that Rolls liked to PIF.

I honestly don't remember what he liked but if someone else remembers I'd love to buy a soap or something to pitch into this
