An interesting day today. I spent some time back in a familiar environment today. Got a mic put in my face for a 30 minute podcast that turned into over an hour. A face made for radio. It's been, oh, 30 years or so since I've been on the air but it all kicked right back in. Fun to be back behind a mic and being put on the spot. Hopefully it will sound as good when it airs as it did in my head. The main difference between now and the studios back then? Well for one no turntables anymore. No tape machines anymore. And less hair on the guy's head who is talking.

After that we had an early dinner, my wife set out to do some of that therapy thing she does, and I chilled and got caught up on some paperwork and financial stuff that I needed to handle. So, with everything done, time to shave. Third shave with the Toggle and Voskie along with the Arko. For tonight's brush, back to the first "real" brush I ever bought. The Omega Pro 48. I remember when this thing showed up I was a bit taken aback by its huge size. Didn't know it was that big! But I used it almost exclusively for quite awhile before trying others. It's a beast and even without a lot of work you can load three passes of lather into it. It has a splay that covers your whole head. I got the three passes out of it and the razor did fine work, leaving me smooth as a baby's butt and the alum quiet. Fine shave from some fine gear all across the board.

Have a great rest of your night and an even better Tuesday!

Yes! The mug is awesome. I had to have it once I saw it. The only reason I ordered an alum block is because I've been occasionally using my styptic pencil like an alum block. I figured I would just add it as a tool in the box for those times where I just go too far and make my neck a bit raw.

Pulling out the Creed I see. Aventus is some good stuff. Highly immitated, but that signature Creed Ambergris in the base sets it apart from the cheap knock offs.

I know no one asked for my opinion

TBH, I use both if needed... The alum (and witch hazel - I use both after every shave) is great for healing irritation (especially on the neck) and for mild weepers. If the alum doesn't stop the weeper then I pull out the styptic pencil.

Everyone's skin is different and we all develop techniques to assist our own sensitivities. My skin is soooo much better since I changed to wet shaving but every little bit helps. Cheers!

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Muhle Synth. v2.0 Silvertip Fibre Faux Horn 25/60mm knot
Soap/Cream:- The Club ~ La Cosa Nostra
    Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Razor/Blade:- Karve CB Brass 'B' / Polsilver Super Iridium #11
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20), Tea Tree Antiseptic (10), Lavender (15) & Peppermint (10 drops)
    Fragrance:- Tabac

OMG!..... OMG!..... My bathroom truly smells like heaven, very warm, and relaxing scent. I truly loved the smell of La Cosa Nostra, straight from my nose, I get was tobacco, whiskey, sandalwood, vanilla, spicy and something deep woody scent which is not very strong. You guys MUST!!!! get this soap into your den. The quality of the lather is very rich, creamy and slick, post-shave feels on my face is excellence with goats milk and lanolin.
