    August 7 SOTD:

    Razor: PAA Ascension SS
    Blade: Gillette Nacet
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Lather: Proraso Red
    Aftershave: Proraso Red

I was up early this morning to get ready, as I have a non work meeting in Houston today. I left about 3 hours before the meeting, as you never know what you will find with traffic in Houston. I am at a Starbucks now getting ready. The shave was chosen to guarantee great results. This razor is marketed as an adjustable, so it fits for the month, and I am pretty certain you have to try to get weepers with it. Two passes and DFS. The Proraso Red has a nice light scent, which is just barely detectable, so it fits perfectly for my needs today. I am actually donning a jacket and tie today, so a nice looking shave adds to the effect. I will be glad when this meeting is over. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Pretty picture, Jim!
I was thinking about the adjustable razors I was going to use this month and completely forgot about the Ascension falling into this category. Most definitely getting some use this month.
Safe travels and I hope your meeting goes well

Excellent shave this morning in keeping with the August theme. Not much more to add than that. Y'all have a great day! The Slim was run at full throttle setting 9.

Very good shave this morning with the Stoylin Glacial Soap cake(SDM). 2 passes as usual, a couple minor cuts-minor enough that I was able to run the razor right over 'em without any further trouble.

    Nice shave Perry
I have a PAL adjustable too, I like the B-20 blades. I too think the angle is not intuitive compared to most razors I've used. That makes me feel it's not just me.
    Thanks

Thanks,. Terry. It's hard to tell with cake soaps, they go on rather thin(in my experience anyway)thus not allowing much protection for cuts. Perhaps I had an "extra-thick" section over them this time.

Well maybe, I've grown fond of light razors. They do a great job on the head shave without issues. But the heavy weights do a fine job on the face.

Would that be true about ALL soaps(whether cakes or pucks)?
