Wednesday morning: Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Wilkinson day 3 Gilly’s Lush Life SS Prep ASB Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash No complaints about this shave - three passes for a perfect BBS finish. The Lush Life soap smells so nice, it lathers great, and there’s a mild, but pleasant menthol sensation along with a very comfortable postshave feeling. I massaged my face with the Prep and it felt so good, then a couple of splashes of the Aqua Velva and I was good to go!

THAT is a most interesting combination . Course with Williams, I suppose one can use just about any aftershave.
Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse LaToja Shaving Stick Jayaruh #296 Brush Dollar Tree Assured Assured DE Blade CWR Granddad's Blend My prep was just a cold water rinse. The LaToja Shaving Stick face lathered well with the Jayaruh #296 Brush. I did two passes with the Dollar Tree Assured razor with a Assured DE Blade and although the blade was a bit tuggy on the first pass, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Scent Showdown I decided to put both of my Spicebomb type scented sets to the test. I used Ginger's Garden Spicegrenade on the left, and Oleo Wayoh on the right. Both the Lutin and the JR159 have the same Maggard's synthetic knot, though the Lutin is set lower so it has more backbone. Lather - GG is a vegan soap with argan oil, and Oleo has duck fat and jojoba oil. Both have mango butter. The Oleo lather was more dense, both were very slick. Advantage: Oleo, I like the density of the lather, though both performed similarly - I used an alum block to check for irritation, and both sides had a little only on the neck. Post shave feel: GG left my skin softer, likely due to the argan oil. Oleo rinsed very cleanly and felt very good as well. Advantage: GG Scent: Both are true to Spicebomb and about equal in strength. Aftershave: GG goes on a little tacky and takes longer to absorb. Oleo has more alcohol and stung more when applied, but dried down quickly and left a smooth feeling. GG has more menthol as well. Overall: these two are close, but if I had to pick just one, is give the nod to Oleo. I prefer tallow soaps in general, although argan oil is an excellent ingredient. Jim, you may want to be careful, the NSA may pick up on your chemistry post and see that you get a visit from the ATF squad.

SOTD August 7th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap EDRIO #102 Schick Mini-Repeater Prototype Personna (?) 30DCLE (26mm, Frigate Class) Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap and AS Interesting little prototype repeater this morning. The handle is just big enough to hold your standard c-type blade magazine. Put the blade in the magazine and the loading mechanism had no problems racking the blade into the head. Here it is next to a standard size repeater to show scale: Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk

Great razor - what’s the story behind it - e.g. how’d you find it, what do you know about it, etc. I hadn’t heard of or seen a Schick C prototype before.
Thanks Karl. The short story is this. I bought this huge lot of razors on eBay and when it came it had a bunch of really odd razors I had never heard of or seen before. When I asked the seller about it I was told that the lot came from a museum that shutdown and it's contents were being liquidated. You can read more about it and see photos of the prototypes here: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/odd-injectors-prototypes.57980/
