Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Schick Plus Platinum
    Razor: PAL Adjustable
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Soap: Soap Commander 13A▲
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

The best shave with the PAL Adjustable to date. You have to go slow and really watch the angle. Pretty smooth results. I'll put it away for a while now and move on to something else. The 13A▲ soap is still hanging on, so I'll keep using it into next week.

First day of school for all the students is today. Wish us luck!

I am staying with the Thäter synthetic for a couple more days. This brush has a higher loft than the Simpson CH2 synthetic but it also has a glue bump unlike the CH2. Thus the effective loft of the two brushes is very similar. If anything the Thäter synthetic is harder to splay. I can say with certainty that the tips on the Thäter are not as soft. They have a scrub and scritch very similar to a 2 band finest. I find this very unique in synthetic brushes and enjoy the feel. The Thäter is a soap eating, lather making monster. I had enough lather for 5 or 6 passes. Three passes with touch ups and buffing my lower right neck ended with the baby in hand. A splash of the Colonia aftershave and I am off to a client site for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Things started off great with this shave.
Fantastic lather from the vintage AoS soap. Super-slick, lusciously creamy and rich.
Not too thick, but the consistency of loose yogurt.
The Simpson Keyhole has a terrific handle and the Grey-Box era Best Badger knot is superlative.
Sounds pretty good so far, doesn't it [IMG]
Prepped the Portland with a few CrOx/linen strop laps, followed up with my SRD 3" strop.
    To the shave...
Pretty good north-south WTG pass on both sides and neck.
    So far, so good...
Adjust my mustache to get under and around my lower lips...
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    Bad set down and ouch.
Dr. Mrs. Primo walks in to the bathroom while I am rounding my chin...
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
    Ouch...blood...not a lot, but mos def© blood.
That's all, I throw in the towel and rinse.
    Alum stings.
    Thayer's sort of stings.
Saving grace is the AoS ASG/ASB. Great products.
Spritz of the Yardley and I am done.
Chin looks like a war zone.
    Hope your shaves were better.

    Proraso PS Red
    SV Felce Aromatica SS
    Zenith Boar
    New Azuma Yasuki Steel Kamisori
    WK Fougère Bouquet

3 pass DFS today. 1 stubborn jawline weeper (toe set down error) on the 2nd pass. Otherwise, fun and great shave with luxurious lather created between the Zenith Boar and the SV 4.3. The 4.3 lathering and skin feel is quite like WK and CF. Quick to lather, quite slick, smooth and creamy, loves hydration. This kamisori is quite light and has a thin tang, so a 3rd pass with concentrated XTG short stroke buffing was necessary on the lower right neck to get DFS smooth. Most other places done on 2nd pass.

Another busy day ahead. A small bit of work, taxi service for band rehearsal, follow up dentist visit for Dad. The oldest starts the driving portion of getting her license at 7pm, so we'll spend more time this afternoon with me in the passenger seat before (cringing & being quiet save for big mistakes or questions). She and I have 15+ hours of driving practice already, she's driven both the big trucks (hey, it's Texas!) but mostly her little compact sedan. In reality, she's doing well, cautious and better than she gives herself credit for. Parallel parking, interstate driving really about the last of what is new to her.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday!
