This Modern Gem SE is probably the cheapest of those on the market, offering a straight bar and open comb. I had a disaster last time out as I got the blade misaligned, today I took great care to ensure the blade locked down properly. This is definitely an aggressive Razor and not one to rush , IMHO in comparison the Micro Matic OC seems quite mild , as does a 1924/ Streamline. Using the MWF I actually got a pretty good close Shave, and the Razor was surprisingly good when shaving the Chin/Upper Lip. Certainly not a Razor for the inexperienced and in terms of performance does not compare with my favourite Vintage SEs.

Somewhere in Pennsylvania. My prep was just a cold water rinse. The LaToja Shaving Stick face lathered well with the Jayaruh #296 Brush. I did two passes with the Gem Micromatic Bullet Tip razor with a CVS CS SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

After the PAA Starling yesterday, the 1924 with the long handle was very smooth and comfortable. Not only that but the overall finish quality attained without too much effort is top notch. The likes of A Sabre L1 and an ATT SE-G do not shave as well as the 1924.

I just came back from the antique shop by my house and picked up an injector razor, this is my second one, my first one never really worked I think part of the razor was bent. But does anyone know which model this one is? Screenshot_2019-08-10-13-49-53.png

Short answer you have a J1.

Just make sure if it doesn't have a blade already loaded use one from that key as blank and load it first, eject it out putting in a new blade afterwards and use that second one to shave with. That first blade if used potentially will scrap across the blade stops and make for a pretty harsh shave when the edge gets all screwed up. That is why you always leave them loaded with a blank or blade until ready to change out a new blade.

Schick I 2 Hydro Magic, Schick Proline B, shave 1.

Sorry no pictures today. I took a baseline shave yesterday with my best SE which is a Clog Pruf Peerless. This razor is with this blade and I assume enough practice on this particular razor is right in the same ballpark as the Clog Pruf peerless. I still have to give the nod to the Clog Pruf peerless because it gives minimal feedback on the alum block unlike the I 2. Other observation using enough chick blades and over 10 shaves in on this razor is that this blade at least for the first shave is much smoother than a chick which seems to need at least 2 shaves for me before they break in fully and smooth out. After a full progression through this blade will give me a good idea just how much the chick blades differ from the proline b blades.
