Viking is really good. I could describe it for you, but it seems many people have very different takes on what they are smelling. Everyone agrees that it's a throw-back scent for grown men, but getting a handle on precisely what notes are in it depends on either what day your nose is sensitive to what smells or if you just have a nose that, in general, is sensitive to certain notes. Some say spicy-cinnamon and some say woody-salty-aquatic and some say pink pepper-mint. I have to agree with each of those takes and it depends on what your nose/brain focus on. I like how it transitions and changes. Seems like an almost fougere opening......then goes into a phase similar to Pasha de Cartier.....then goes into a minty-pink-pepper-aquatic then slowly transitions into a Sandalwood+Driftwood+Salty-Aquatic base for the final dry down phase. That's how my nose 'usually' picks it up. Today I'm getting a cinnamon-mint-sandalwood combo.

One thing I can say is that no matter what my nose picks up from this scent, it's never a bad experience. It's always nice to smell.

I have just assembled a TOBS Sandalwood set and will be trying it out in some weeks from now. I intend it for Fall Season scent duty.

Thank you Gary. Keeping it pretty old school this week. I forgot how much I enjoy the green. Great shave with the classic Gillette birth year razor and the new brush worked enjoyable on the maiden voyage. The only bad thing was I sliced my left thumb rather deep unwrapping the blade. I was dripping blood like mad. Every once in awhile I get cut doing something stupid and careless. All is well. It reminds you not to take too much for granted and pay attention. At least I wasn't texting lol.

    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Bath Soap - Shulton Old Spice "Fresh Lime" (circa 1974)
Razor - Gillette Superspeed (circa 1947-1952) (Re-plated in Nickel Finish by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *Fresh Blade
Shave Brush - Declaration Grooming "Fatty" in custom green color with Synthetic Knot
Shave Cream - Proctor & Gamble Old Spice "Fresh Lime"
Suribachi Lather Bowl handmade by Of the Dirt Pottery
Deodorant - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1967-1970)
Aftershave - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1966-1976)
Fragrance - Shulton Old Spice Lime Cologne Splash (circa 1966-1976)

***EDIT - 1-pass + extensive cleanup. The shaving cream works fantastic. Residual slickness allowed me to be able to smooth over spots with my finger tips to re-apply residual and the protection/slickness was solid. Allowed for a perfect shave with minimal blade-skin contact. A fresh blade likely helped minimize the number of strokes necessary for a clean shave. I used the talc powder as deodorant and didn't use either the preciously rare deodorant or bath soap. The shave cream, talc as deo, aftershave and cologne were enough to give a nice scent cloud during my shopping. I love this scent. It's amazing.

Great review. I just recently bought a backup set of shave soaps, splashes and added on an EDP of Florentine Fern. Catie's Bubbles just made up a fresh batch of the Florentine Fern, so, get it while it's in stock. Chris Cullen doesn't always keep Florentine Fern in stock.
