I spent a couple of hours splitting seasoned oak, for use in future barbecues, with an axe and sledge hammer. This was from 2:30-4:45 pm. I Had cut up part of a large tree, several months ago, and let it dry. It was time, I was tired of seeing the large pile, in the driveway. The only problem I had was 99 degrees, with over 110 index. I had to take several breaks, and recruited my 13 yr old girl, to stack it all. Not a complaint out of her, other than the dog kept bugging her, the entire time. I will say, this was the closest I have ever come, to heat exhaustion. i estimated approx 3/4 cords. A lot for BBQing.
Smoked two large briskets. Started 5pm Saturday, took it off the smoker at 5am. Then transferred them to the oven, wrapped well, in foil, from 5am to 5pm. Tender, moist, and very very flavorful. Now, I'm stuffed, and everyone else is complaining they ate too much. Overall, a good day.
Were you wearing flannel?? While chopping wood?? While fixing your pickup truck?? Switching cell phone service, while doing these things, would make it manly. Just by itself, well, I will let others decide the extent of the manliness.
Grocery shopping. Oh wait, you said “manly” Oh I ordered a Swedish bushcraft knife and thought about washing the car while shaving.
